Peter threw open the door and ran in, slamming it shut behind him. He stopped dead in his tracks when he saw the floating H2o. Tony flashed his eyes at Peter, warning him to stay by the door and not let anyone else in. Then he slid off the bed and knelt down, stretching out a hand to his estranged daughter. "Sage," Tony said. "Sweetheart, talk to me."
King laid down beside her, he knew that she was scared. Despite everything, King wasn't phased. He started to lick the floating water.
Sage was in the fetal position on the floor. She eyed her father and said, "Help me."
"I want to help you, but you've got to stop this." Tony had a thought, "Can you stop this?"
Sage tried to control the water around her, she focused on the sound of King's panting and the softness of his fur. Her heart rate started to slow and the panic she felt began to fade away. King had that effect on her, it was part of the reason she loved him so much.
Tony and Peter watched as the water flowed back to its containers. The pitcher was filled, the water from the broken IV bags and water bottles went into the sink and disappeared.
"How did you do that?" Tony asked in a hushed voice.
Sage sat up and shrugged, "I don't know. That's why I'm here." She looked at her dad's deep brown eyes, "Please, don't send me away again."
Tony leaned forward and pulled his daughter into a tight hug. "No, never again." He brushed the hair from her face and kissed her cheek. "I'm so sorry."
They sat on his bed for a while just talking and catching up. She explained how Peter and her ended up on the road trip together, she told him about school and King, about her adoptive mom and their home, she wanted to tell him everything.
"What's going to happen now?" Sage asked her dad.
"Well," Tony said. "I finally get to be your dad again," he turned to her and smiled. "You'll come live at the tower with your mom and I," a sad look passed over his face. "But only if you want, I mean, it seems like you've built a life down there in Queens."
Sage looked over at Peter who had fallen asleep in one of the armchairs. "All I've ever wanted was to live with my parents again."
Tony smiled and gave her a side hug. "This is going to be so fun, I can't wait for you to meet the others."
"Others?" Sage said.
"The Avengers." Tony replied. "That's where we live, the Avengers' Tower." Tony laughed, "I can't wait to see their faces when I introduce you."
"What about Peter?"
Tony was confused, "What about him?"
"Well he's an Avenger right? Why doesn't he live in the tower?"
Tony shrugged, "I don't think he wants to."
Peter fell out of the chair. "I would absolutely love to live in the tower Mr. Stark!"
Tony stared at him, clearly he thought that Peter was asleep. "Kid, if you wanted to live in the tower you should've just said something."
"Well I'm saying something now."
"Only if your Aunt says it's okay." Tony said sternly before turning back to his daughter. "What about you? How do you feel about the Avengers' Tower?"
"I'm not an Avenger." Sage said.
Tony made a face, "We can change that."
