Summary: Reader is fairly new to the team and is trying to establish friendships within it. She thinks Spencer is cute and is sure to let him know.

A/N: I mention an analysis later on and I just googled it so I don't know how you wanna interpret that. I just think it was a very Spencer thing to say. If you wanna read about it I'll link it in the comments (if it lets me do that lol).

...

When you woke up for work this morning, you set one goal for yourself.

Befriend your coworkers.

It wouldn't be that difficult. Right off the bat you knew that you and the Tech Goddess, Penelope Garcia, would get along perfectly. Because of that, she'd help you out with the girls. You weren't really sure if you could get close with Morgan just because he seemed close with Reid... Who you were starting to have a crush on.

Up until this point in life, talking to people you were attracted to was as easy as breathing. Flirty looks and banter is usually your forte; except for when it comes to Spencer. You learned early on that he wasn't very quick to pick up on your excessive flirting. Derek advised you take a different approach and since then, you haven't been able to.

You walked into the bullpen with your shoulders back and head high. Maybe, you could take a chance today. You saw Prentiss was the only one there except for Hotch and Rossi who were in their offices. You walked up to her desk and perched yourself on the corner of it.

"Good morning, gorgeous," You smiled.

"Well good morning to you too Sweetness," Prentiss giggled and you rolled your eyes at her use of the nickname Morgan gave you.

"Anyways, I was wondering if you wanted to get lunch with Garcia and I. I'm gonna ask JJ too when she gets in. Just so we could have a bit of girl time. I heard from Morgan that today's just gonna be a paperwork day."

"I'd love to! Also, I could ask Jayge for you. She texts back pretty fast."

"Oh I bet she does," you smirk at her.

She rolls her eyes with a smile, "Whatever."

You wink before going to your seat to start on the large pile in the corner of your desk. You never were very good with paperwork. You got distracted easily and ended up having to space it out over multiple days. While it was okay since none of them were late, you wanted to be more productive. It would also stop you from daydreaming over the team's genius- who just walked in. He beelined towards the kitchenette and after debating whether or not you were going to make a move, you got up to follow him.

...

"Hey," you spoke softly.

No matter how gentle you sounded, it still made Spencer jump. "Oh, hey," he smiled sheepishly.

You walked towards him slowly, "I heard today's a paperwork day."

"Th-that's nice."

"Yeah?"

"Yeah, I like paperwork. It's very uhm," Spencer pauses to clear his throat. "Very therapeutic."

"Hmm," you hum and finally make it to your destination in front of him. For a second you just look at each other in silence. Spencer analyzes your every move with bated breath. You reach toward his tie before playing with it. You tug on it slightly and look up to see his adam's apple bob. "You know, this might be my favorite tie that you've ever worn."

"I- You- You look at what I wear?"

Spencer stumbling over his words only eggs you on and you have to bite your lip to hide your smile. "Of course. Speaking of, I don't really like the black one you wore last week. I think this purple one suits you much better." You straighten it out before returning your hands to your sides.
