'childe?'

"they're awake, boss!"

you look around, still not understanding what is happening. while you were in your thoughts, you felt arms going around you. before you could say anything, you got dragged out of the car. childe wouldn't make eye contact with you.

"what's happening?" you asked quickly, starting to panic.

"well dear, you were somewhat tricked by your best friend." a man kneeled down, looking at your surprised state. "i wouldn't ever want to be you. imagine being friends with someone for so long, but ending up to be betrayed." the man chuckled, getting back up.

"childe?" you tried to get childe to look at you, however, he wouldn't. "childe? why.." you said in between sobs. you already knew what this plan was, childe was the only person that knew as well. you would've never guessed he would be involved in it.

"we'd love to let you chat, but we're in quite a rush." the same man spoke softly, indicating for the other men holding you to continuing dragging you away. "it'd be good if you didn't fight back. you're making it worse if you do."

"childe..?" you spoke one last time before you were dragged away.

sitting down on the floor, numb, you attempted not to break down in front of the guards. childe's voice in the other room wasn't helping you at all. all you could hear was yelling from him and another voice.

as the door opened, you looked up to see who was entering the dark-ish room. childe entered the room, keeping his head down at all times.

"w-was this all fake?" you asked childe out of nowhere. "look at me! you seemed fine looking at me and throwing me into the car earlier. why can't you look at me now?!" you start yelling. at this point, you couldn't control your emotions.

"don't talk to me, i hate you." childe spoke up. those words hurt you more than it should've. that sentence was your breaking point. as you were still trying not to cry, another person came into the room.

"we gave you 5 minutes, as you asked." the guard came in, walking up to childe. "you've had enough time with them, now get out." the guard pulled childe out of the room. watching childe the room, tearing rolling down your face, you saw he was the same. his head was down, hair covering his eyes, however, you could still see the tears.

'why is he crying..?'

about another hour had passed, you weren't sure what you were waiting for, but it was taking quite a while. as you were starting to panic even more as the time passed, the more you tried pulling on the rope.

you stopped after becoming tired. the door opened again. the guards sitting positions quickly turned into soldier-like posture. the man that walked in was wearing a mask. he kneeled down beside you.

"it's quite dark and cold in here isn't it?" the man asked, but you stayed quiet. "come on, you can talk. you don't need to be scared of me. only the moonlight was seeping through the windows, hitting the man's face perfectly. it almost made you trust him, and you didn't know why.

he seemed familiar, but you tried to push that thought away.  his face comes close to your ear, as you begin to panic.

"i'm here to help you, just wait a bit longer. i promise you'll be safe." the man then walked away after whispering that to you. the guards seemed quite suspicious, but they couldn't ask anything. most likely because the man was of a higher power.

you took another looked at the man as he was walking away. you still couldn't find out who it was, and his voice was also familiar.

"how much longer do i have to wait?" you asked the guards after the man left the room.

"as long as the boss needs." they both said in sync.

you kept on hearing more yelling as more minutes passed. it sounded like childe and the man you just spoke to. you couldn't make up what you were hearing. there was one thing you could hear, however.

"i don't think i can see them again, after what i just did!" childe's voice could be heard. "i hate them! i hate this!" as if anything couldn't break you down any further, that sentence just proved you wrong once again.

tears rolling down your face once more, but you couldn't stopping the sobbing. as you were quietly sobbing the guards had told you to be quiet.

"can you just shut up? it's annoying hearing you cry." the guard yelled. you tried to stop crying, however, your breathing started to become unbalanced. trying to catch your breath, more thoughts of the people you care for came into your mind.

what was going to happen to you? will you die? will you be isolated like this forever?

you kept on trying to escape, even though the layers of rope were laughing in your face. the noise of your shirt ruffling seemed to annoy them again.

"stop trying to escape." the guard spoke up, but you kept on trying. you could see him walking up to you. before you could look up, you felt a cloth going over your mouth and nose.

you woke up in a field of flowers, pink clouds up in the sky. were you dead?

"am i dreaming?" it seemed like a dream, but you had full control of everything. after walking around for a few minutes, you saw someone else sitting by the river. it was a woman, and she was wearing an elegant white dress.

as you were walking up to her, she turned around. your eyes widen, your knees then hit the soft grass.

"honey, it's been so long hasn't it?" that's when you remember. around your teen years, you've had dreams like this, meeting the same exact woman. "come on, we've got to catch up."

with all the emotions bottled up, all you did was cry even more.

"didn't you miss me?" the woman spoke up again.

"of course i did." you feeling spoke up.

"then come. sit beside me sweetie." the warm smile the woman displayed on her face brought you comfort.

"i missed you so much, mom."
