Just some important information so that the story make sense, in this story you and Erwin were born and spent your early years together with your father far north in wall Maria on an small island in the biggest lake within the walls, that is covered in snow almost all year except for mid summer. In this Erwin is 5 years older than Levi ( I believe he is 3-4 in the manga so it's not a big of a change😁) and he joined the military at the age of 16 leaving you in the underground at the age of 8. You met Levi 2 years after you arrived in the underground making you 10 and him 13.

Y/N P.O.V

The snow hugged your woollen jacket and your hands were cold from the water that had danced it's way through the seams of your leather mittens, but you wanted nothing more than to play around in the snowy mountains with your brother. The chilling cold that embraced your fingers were out conquered by the joy that filled your body each time your brother would lift you up and throw you into the white duvet that covered the land around your home. You also knew that behind the heavy wooden door awaited the most cherished warmth and love you ever needed to erase the cold that were to embrace your body. You looked over at your brother who stood tall in the white fields, his golden locks ruffled by the wind and his cheeks glowing bright red, due to the pinching of the frosty air. His warm and golden tones contrasted with your cold and sharp features, but it was certain that you were brother and sister because you both shared the same spark of curiosity and adventurousness in your day blue eyes. Your brother's laughing filled the ever so empty landscape, but the happy tunes were soon canceled out by a sharp ringing, ringing that belonged to the rusty iron bell hung in the food quarters. You looked around the depressing room seeing all the other kids leaving for breakfast. Your eyes fell upon the clock, located above the door to your right, only a few minutes before the clock stroke ten, you hurried over to the window peering down on the streets looking for a certain black haired boy. This had almost become like a daily habit all because of that one time when that very same raven haired boy had started a huge ruckus down there at the market, your curiosity took interest in the boy and you had ended up spending the whole night by the window only to find out that the boy would pass by again at the very same time that next morning. Today was no exception either, the boy wandered the market alone despite only being maybe 2 or 3 years older than you, you also wanted to wander freely you had almost become envious of him. You missed the old days wandering the woods with your older brother but you knew how important it was for him to join the military and how much he needed to share his knowledge, of course you wished that he would have taken you with him, but you also knew he left you here in the orphanage so that you would be safe and far away from what was going on above ground, and he did promise he would come back for you when the time was right and you never doubted that for a second and you would spend the rest of your life waiting if you had to. Without much thought your short legs had started sprinting down the stairs and soon your bare feet were running along the gravel streets of the underground leaving behind the shelter you had spent your last two years living in, putting all your trust in the unknown boy.

There were a lot of people more than you expected and it was hard to keep track of the boy who walked a street or maybe two away, but your small arms kept pushing through the crowd, the motion reminding you awfully a lot of how you had to push through the heavy snow back home. Your head shifted from the boy upfront to your feet making sure not to trip or stumble over someone's legs. The raven head turned around a corner just a few meters before you, and your feet picked up the pace, so not to loose the boy but also because you assumed it was a side alley meaning less people. You followed the boy around the corner leaving the crowded market, due to the lack of people you realised the boy was now only walking a few steps in front of you. You followed him quietly for a while unsure of how to approach the unfamiliar figure. You noticed the boy cast a short glance behind him before speeding up his walk, not thinking much of it you followed his example.

Levi P.O.V

I was certain my steps were being traced, it wasn't hard to tell I could almost feel their eyes piercing through my back at this point. I cast a brief glance over my shoulder to see a small figure following me, a figure that seemingly belonged to a younger girl, but It was hard to tell the clothes were lose and the the knee long bruised shirt could belong to anyone the only thing giving it away were the long blonde locks that covered the face. Even so the sight of the fragile figure didn't lower my guard, I know how the creeps down her use small children do there dirty work because they appear innocent and I was not going to fall victim to that. Once again I started moving faster as the stranger followed my first acceleration, but again the pace of the kid corresponded with mine. I moved my legs faster almost running at this point, but again the girl copied my movements. She was fast considering how small her legs was, it was almost like she was floating above ground as if she met zero resistance in the steps she was taking. I had to face it to get the lost of the burden I had to sprint and hopefully I could loose her by taking a few short tracks in the side alleys.

I leaned in on the building my back facing the wall, completely out of breath. I've been running for the past 10 minutes in every direction between houses and across streets struggling to get the kid off my back, but finally the young girl was nowhere to bee sighted. I rested my head against the brick wall closing my eyes for a slight moment, and heard the sound of people passing by the back street chatting lightly. My head started drifting off, I were tired from continuous nights without sleep and the running weren't exactly helping with the headache. I had almost left the real world when I heard footsteps approach from the opposite part of the alley. I opened my eyes hastily to find gleaming blue ones staring softly into mine, eyes filled with hope and curiosity and they were shining brighter than any of the finest jewelry I'd ever seen. Being lost in the girl's eyes she took the initiative to speak first, she reached out her small hands which was almost nothing more than bones. I looked up to face the girl again, she was indeed skinny worse than what I'd ever been myself, but still her face had this healthy glow across it and the eyes the shimmering eyes made her prettier than anyone wandering the streets of the underground. " Y/N" she said still reaching out her hand, all I managed to let out was a slightly confused huh before she repeated herself " I'm Y/N" she said now smiling at me, I reached my hand out and lightly held hers afraid using to much force would crush her slender hands "Levi."
