"You want to sleep at my place?" Dipper asked for the third time. "Why?"

Pacifica sighed. "I told you, it's complicated."

"Hold on, does this have something to do with that phone call yesterday?"

"No. Yes. Maybe. Can we talk about this when I'm out of here, please?"

Dipper raised an eyebrow at Pacifica. He'd never seen her look so stressed out. Dipper sighed. "Fine, but only because you said 'please'. But how do you plan to get out of here?"

"With rope, duh. This isn't my first time sneaking out."

"I guess I should've seen that coming." Dipper shrugged. "So, do I go first or...?"

"Just go."

Dipper went back to the window and cautiously began to climb out of it, feet first. When he reached the bottom, a rope came cascading down the wall from Pacifica's window.

"Be careful." Dipper called up as he removed the gloves and boots. Pacifica tossed her bag out the window, which landed near Dipper.

"Yeah, yeah." She muttered as she began to descend down the rope.

Dipper looked up at the blonde. Something didn't feel right, like something bad was gonna happen. "Hey, where did you tie the rope to?"

"Doorknob." Pacifica breathed.

Dipper's eyes went wide as saucepans. "You tied it to a doorknob?!"

"Yeah, what's the big deal?"

"What's the big deal?" Dipper repeated. "How is a doorknob gonna hold your weight?!"

"It's held it before, it can hold it again." Pacifica reached the ground. "See?"

Dipper shook his head. "That could've gone so badly."

"But it didn't."

"Whatever, but you owe me big time." Dipper pointed a finger at Pacifica.

"Fine, whatever."

"Watch your step."

"I know how to walk, thank-"

Pacifica couldn't finish her sentence. She was too busy trying to process the fact that she had just tripped over a rock while ignoring Dipper's reminders. Talk about a bruh moment.

Fortunately, though, Dipper had been expecting her to trip at some point so he was able to reach her just before she hit the ground face first.

"What did I just tell you?" he asked Pacifica incredulously. Pacifica opened her eyes. She had closed them when she was bracing herself for the the impact of the collision. But now she wished she'd just kept them close. Her face was way to close to Dipper's. She could feel his breathing on her nose.

"Dipper?"

"What?"

"Get your hand off my back. Right. Now." Pacifica glared at him.

Dipper's face flushed. Good thing it was dark, otherwise Pacifica would be teasing him like crazy. He immediately released his grip on her back and Pacifica quickly stood up, followed by Dipper.

"Not a word." She warned at Dipper when he opened his mouth to speak. Looks like the rest of the trip to the Mystery Shack will be uncomfortably quiet. Thankfully though, they arrived there pretty quickly.

When they entered the Shack, the first thing that caught Pacifica's eye were the blankets and pillows on the couch. Dipper went straight to a different room and came back minutes later with a blanket and another pair of pillows.
