This isn't right, from my knowledge of the Wasteland there has never been a peaceful island, it's always been a way to make you an easy target. Noticing a weird light coming from the woods, I walked over to the edge of the tree line and tried to get a better view of where the light was coming from. I started down a path, at the end I saw a mirror, carefully walking over to it there was something I hadn't seen in a while....... Myself. Wow I look terrible, and damn is my hair is a lot worse then I remember, I was about to try to fix it but then a light flashed inside the mirror and Kat appeared inside, she started pounding on the glass until it cracked and she stuck her arm out, grabbing my wrist with her ice cold hand, tried to pull me in with her. I looked up with panic and started to pull myself away from her grasp but every time I did she pulled back with an even greater force. I started yelling for Kevin and at the last second before falling into the mirror Kevin smashed it completely with a nearby rock. The force of the mirror breaking was so great we were both blown back at least 10 feet. In shock we looked at each other and Kevin asked,"What the hell just happened?"
I sat there in disbelief just shaking my head, he took my hand and reassured me that everything would be okay, and that we'll find her. Still holding hands we walked back to the beach, we sat down and started planning for what we were going to do if and when the attacks start. I woke up to the sound of bombs being dropped a few hundred feet away. Kevin must've woken up before me because he was already up and ready to move, we started running and the further into the woods we got the darker and colder it got. Once we were what I'm assuming is the middle of the woods there was a house, it wasn't a very sturdy house, but it was shelter. We walked inside and it gave off the vibe that someone had been killed here, it was dark and had a nasty smell like something was rotting, the stairs looked like they could collapse at any moment. I looked at Kevin and said in a hushed tone,"I have a bad feeling about this place, like something's watching us, go check the upstairs I'll look around here."
We split up, Kevin taking the upstairs and me on the first floor. Starting in the living room area I looked under all the furniture trying to find something that can be used as a weapon incase someone or something came to attack us, when I failed to find anything I moved to the fireplace to see if any of the wood was still flammable, luckily for us I was able to get a small fire started, which is good because too much smoke would give away our hiding place. I proceeded to the kitchen to find that there was no food and the only way to get water is to go to the stream in the back. While I was looking through the bathroom I heard Kevin scream from upstairs, before I even got the stairs everything went black.
Kevin's Pov
After I made it up the unstable stairs I saw three bedrooms and one bathroom, I cautiously entered the first room on the left. It had to have been a girls room at one point because there was a pink comforter and a rag doll in a purple dirt covered dress. Carefully opening the closet door, I was relieved to see that it was empty. Letting out a sigh I went to the second room but this time I wasn't so lucky because when I opened the door to the closet two dead bodies fell on me. I let out an extremely girlie scream, pushed the bodies off of me, and ran down stairs calling Victoria's name. When I got no answer I started searching every room of the house. I started out the back door but stopped dead in my tracks when I saw something cut into the wood. Tiptoeing making sure not to make any noise I read the wall which said "You're next!" I frantically looked around then ran out the back door, to see Victoria lying next to the stream. I ran over to her and tried to wake her up, when that didn't work I threw water on her face until she woke up and asked, "What the hell did you throw water on me for? How did I get out here?" I sighed and laid back telling her I had no clue of what's going on. Remembering the wall I sat straight up and and asked "Did you notice anything weird on the walls in the kitchen" She answered, "Besides the obvious rotting of the wood, no, why did you see something?" I shook my head and said, "I thought I did but I could have just been hallucinating, don't worry about it." Trying to change the subject I said, "So I saw you got a fire started, anything we can use for defense?" She shook her head no and started towards the house, I got up and followed, when we passed that wall it was as if the words had never even been there. We headed down to the basement, my heart was racing as the stairwell got darker and darker as we headed down. At the bottom there was a light switch, but to no surprise when Vic turned it on it just emitted a dim glow which made the basement even creepier. Going around the corner towards the back of the wall there was a hanging light, I turned it on and engraved into the wall was the words "help me". Making sure to keep my eyes on the wall I called for Vic to check it out. She stared blankly at it. She looked at me like I was crazy and asked, "What am I looking at?" Still not taking my eyes off the wall I said, "Please tell me you're joking, tell me you can see the words!" I looked away for a split second but when I looked back the words had once again disappeared into nothingness.----------------------------------------------
