You're My Mate
"If I tell you the truth that I believe is the truth, will you believe me?"
Madeline
My fixed gaze probed Drake as if the story of his life was written on his face in a few succinct lines that my eyes could read.
"When are you going to stop?"
The soothing voice stroked my eardrums and I fell back to my perceptions. Averting my gaze immediately. I asked. "Why do you mean?"
Drake stood up and poked his hands inside the pockets. "If I tell you the truth, will you believe me?" A whizz of the wind brushed against his hair, making them rambling along, covering his forehead.
"Even if I don't, I still want to hear it." I asserted and his eyes smiled silently while his lips didn't imply any.
"Your safety is the protection to my life." These words slipped out of Drake's smoothly like butter melting in heats.
"That's nonsense. I don't have any enemy. I don't need any safety. You have kidnapped me. Let me go, pervert." I glared and pulled myself up from the bed to depart. But as soon as I stood up and my feet put up with the weight of my body, the pain of the wound rendered, hurting badly.
Drake sighed. "If you want to stand up that desperately, you should just accept my help." He said as he grab my hand and pulled me closer.
Gasping, I lost my balance and my feet hovered over his, supported by his endurance. He then placed my hand on his shoulder and slithered his hand around my waist. I shivered by such a warm touch and closeness.
There was a dreadful silence when his gaze locked with mine and a slow grin appeared on his face.
I breathed in the stillness and could only think about those full, slightly curved lips and how they must feel in places. Trailing my gaze down over the adam apple of his neck, I swallowed a gulp. Even the little lump felt the sexiest.
Knock knock!
A sudden knock broke my scrutiny apart. Both he and I shifted our gazes at the old woman who was standing near the door.
My cheeks seemed to burn as I realized she had her gaze low, witnessing our intense closeness. "The king has recalled you."
Hearing her voice, I got even more altered and tried to push him away but couldn't since he was holding me using all his strength. Dang, it wasn't even compatible with mine. "Get away, already." I gritted my teeth.
Without bothering my threats, Drake carried me up in his arms and laid me on the bed before glancing at the woman, having his alluring lips pursed. "Please take care of her until I come back." He said and in an integral urgency, he made his way out of the room without spending a single glance at me.
After he left, the old woman took her steps in and placed the snacks-served tray on the table, her attire depicting the golden age.
I became confused as I strived to match the puzzles when she bowed to me with the utmost respect.
"I am Ella, the butler of this Castle. It's such a pleasure to finally meet you, my Luna." The woman smiled heartedly.
Her politeness made me dumbfounded. I uncomfortably cleared my throat. "I'm afraid that you're mistaken. I think I'm just a kidnappee or a Prisoner."
The woman shook her head in contention, followed by a pleasant voice. "No, my Luna. You're not a prisoner of your kingdom. I know, you're confused. But our Knight will explain everything to you at the right time."
"Did you say Kingdom? And what did you mean by our knight?" My mind cluttered.
"It's the Phoenix kingdom, ruled by our Alpha Elbert. He... counted years for your arrival." She spoke in a mystery as if she had unearthed a secret. "Drake is his Knight. He will be serving and protecting you from now on."
I was going to freak out but stopped as my stomach growled because of the starvation since last night.
"Please, finish your breakfast before he comes back." Letting out an awkward laugh, the woman dragged the table near me and smiled widely.
