"Dad! Hurry up we are waiting." I screamed from our car into the house.
My mum turned to me and smiled she knew how excited I was to be heading to New York to take part in the Stark internship. I had been informed that over five thousand applications were sent in and I was chosen personally by iron man himself to become an intern. And well nine other kids but who cares about them really. Tony stark believed I had potential ,which for an English girl was quite an achievement.
My parents had gifted me money to live for one whole year in New York. I didn't know if I could survive that long without them but I was determined to become a stark intern and enjoy the life I had been working up to forever.
My father had just gone inside to get a few snacks for the journey but was taking far too long causing me to call out and a few of our neighbours to turn their nosey little heads our way. We lived on a cul-de-sac in the north of England in a little town with a few friends and small schools. Our five minutes of fame are when it decides to rain and we are mentioned on tv. Trust me we are always excited for that. The neighbours are usually rich wine mothers with kids at school and their only form of entertainment is seeing other people's misery. I describe it as hell but it was my home and I knew I was going to miss it the moment I got the email.
"Oh look who decided to show up," I mocked at my dad as he sat in the driver's seat of our car.
"Y/N, I needed the toilet cut me some slack love."
"Well we are in a rush to get to the airport so we should get going. What snacks have we got?"
"The only snacks I could find in the house were a packet of tangfastics and a packet of marshmallows."
"Ooooh marshmallows for me"
The ride was two hours long but when we got to the airport there was not much of a wait. I hugged my parents and my mum cried a bit. I assured her I would be fine and went into departure.
