TRAILING BEHIND MARCEL THROUGH NEW ORLEANS DIDN'T FAZE LIZZIE ANYMORE. He used to be intimidating, if she were being honest, but she grew out of that after he had helped her and her brother. Joining his vampire squad might just have been the best decision she had ever made.

Lizzie spent her early years as a vampire in New York, where she had grown up with her brother, Leo, and their mom, who raised them on her own. Growing up, they never knew who their dad was, or where he was for that matter. All they knew about him was from stories their mom had told them when they were young.

When Leo and Lizzie were only twenty and working in New York, they had an encounter with their dad for the first time. He promised them that if they just trusted him, he could show them an entire new life; one that would grant them more than they could ever imagine. Leo tried to talk Lizzie out of it, but since she went along and fell for his trap, he followed suit. It had always been a characteristic of the twins; they never let the other walk alone.

So, without their mother's knowledge, the two of them met their dad later in the evening, prepared to hear his proposal. Instead of a conversation, though, they were nearly attacked by him. He forced vampire blood down their throats, knocking them out cold afterwards.

It wasn't until morning that the siblings realized what had happened to them, and with frightened minds, they ran off, hoping to never run into their father again.

To this day, Lizzie had no idea what her father's intentions were when he turned them. She wondered if it was supposed to be revenge on her mother, or maybe he just truly held that much hatred in his heart. Whatever it was, she didn't care, as long as she never saw him again.

As a result, Lizzie and Leo spent the early 1900s in New York, feeding off of the young dreamers that came to the city. After a few years, though, they knew they would have to leave, or their mother would suspect something. So, after writing a rather long note and leaving it on the kitchen counter, they left New York and headed off to their next destination just so they could restart as twenty-year-olds again, as was always the plan. They knew their mother's heart would be broken, but it was for the best.

"And, tell me again, why on earth are we conversing with Klaus?" Lizzie questioned Marcel as they walked towards a parking garage in downtown New Orleans. The Originals had been in the city for nearly a week at that point, and all they had been doing since they had arrived was causing trouble.

"He's an old friend of mine, we go way back. If I recall, actually, you've had your fun with him too." Marcel replied with a small smirk, earning an eye-roll from Lizzie.

"Gross, you're making it seem like we did more than just bar hop and feed on people." Lizzie replied, scrunching up her nose as she thought of her early days in New York, where she first met Klaus and Rebekah. Leo and her had met them in one of the bars, and even though they had no idea who the Originals were, they could tell by first glance Klaus was powerful. They spent a few nights together, the four of them, drinking, gambling and feeding the days away.
