A FEW NIGHTS LATER, Marcel decided to host a masquerade-themed party at the compound. Of course, Lizzie would take advantage of just about any excuse to wear an elegant, or maybe not so elegant, dress. Leo, on the other hand, was bothered that they would have to go and actually converse with people.

When the two of them arrived at the compound, it was already decked out in frivolous attire, with acrobats hanging from different ribbons attached to the ceilings. Lizzie figured that Marcel must have compelled some sort of company to loan the girls to him for the night for free; the thought of which disgusted her more than anything.

She couldn't deny, though, that Marcel was a fantastic host. He had put out multiple black lights to illuminate the neon pieces in the room and lined the walls with feathers and streamers, similar to how she remembered the twenties to be.

"Well, this looks fun and all, but, I'm going to get a drink." Lizzie commented after they had walked in, glancing over at Leo, who nodded slightly, telling her to go.

Lizzie made her way over to the bar across the room, slipping through crowds of people dancing and conversing with one another. As she walked, she took note of who actually seemed to fit the theme and who looked like a disastrous mess. Either way, it was entertainment to her.

As she approached the bar, though, she recognized a blonde standing with her back to the crowd, clearly ordering a drink for herself.

"Rebekah Mikaelson." Lizzie greeted her, stepping beside Rebekah, who had turned to face her already. "You know, when my brother told me that you had come to New Orleans to join your brothers, I was a bit surprised. You never could stray from the drama, though." She added, a slight smirk on her face as Rebekah smiled in a bit of shock.

"Klaus already told me you were here. Well, in his words, 'a blast from the past'." Rebekah replied, grabbing the drink the bartender had slid over to her, taking a sip from it almost immediately. "You wouldn't happen to know where my dear brother Elijah is, now would you?" She asked suddenly, causing Lizzie to shake her head slightly.

"No. I heard he was missing, though. Can't be good for one of the Original vampires to be gone." Lizzie replied, which was the truth; she didn't know where Marcel was keeping Elijah. All she knew was that he had him somewhere that Klaus wouldn't find him. Other than that, Marcel didn't tell her much. She had never met Elijah, but from what she had gathered, he was a bit uptight, anyways.

"Right, well, even if you are being honest, Elijah will come back to us at some point." Rebekah shrugged her shoulders slightly, taking another sip of her drink, this time allowing her lips to linger a little while longer.

Rebekah gave Lizzie one last smile before heading off to find Klaus, disappearing from Lizzie's sight into the crowd of people.

Lizzie sighed out in frustration before glancing over towards the entryway, where Thierry was standing, looking a bit distressed as he stared over at Marcel, who was talking to Diego. She furrowed her eyebrows in confusion as she walked over to Thierry, catching his gaze almost immediately.
