Mages In America

Chapter 2- Welcome!

Lucy was the first to wake up. She looked around her surroundings, and noticed that she was in a house. It was dark too.

She was scared at first, because she thought someone kidnapped her. But she wasn't alone.

The rest of the team was still lying down, eyes closed. Even Happy.

"Oh, you're awake", Lucy was startled by the voice. The voice sounded like a male.

"Who are you?", she questioned.

"I'm here for a request", the male stranger replied.

"What request?"

"I need help fighting an enemy."

Lucy was shocked. If there is an enemy right now, they would've killed them already. But this man sounded serious.

"Enemy?", she questioned again.

"Don't worry, they're not here. They only come at a special time.", a girl voice piped up.

This made Erza, and Natsu to wake up.

"I heard a voice. Was it you, Luce?", Natsu asked worriedly.

"No, but I think two people are questioning us.", Lucy replied back.

"I don't like their smell.", Natsu said, sniffing the air.

The whole room started to light up, showing two faces. One male, and one female. They look like they've been in a fight.

"Sorry about that portal. We only transported you here because of a serious mission we didn't succeed. And we need your help.", the man said.

"I don't know if we could trust you.", Erza said, suspecting suspicion on them.

"Yes, you could trust us. We only need your help, and we are considering giving you a reward.", the female said.

"Is it jewels?!", Lucy said excitedly.

"Yes, a very extravagant amount. 10,000,000 jewels."

Everyone, except the two who are sleeping, Gray, and Happy, jaw dropped. That's enough for them to share a lot. They might even give some to the guild.

"That might help my rent for 133 months!", Lucy yelled happily.

"That will last me for 20 months without going on missions!", Erza yelled happily too.

"I could use it for a mountain of food!", Natsu said, fire appearing in his mouth.

Everyone started to talk on how to share the money, when they heard Gray groan. He woke up.

"Oi, where are we?", he asked, rubbing his head.

"We're in a house with two strangers, and the middle of no where.", Erza replied.

This made Gray go into a fighting stance. Erza calmed him down by threatening him with words.

"Sorry for interrupting you guys.", Lucy said to the strangers.

"It's okay. Well, for the mission, you have to stay in this world for a whole year.", the stranger said.

"WHAT?!", everyone yelled in horror.

"Every year, a monster, and a group comes. They will only stay for the night, and disappear in the morning. But, they can kill billions of people in that one night. The last time they came, it killed 1,567,890 people. We fought them, but they were too strong. We are mages like you, but we are not strong. We do not have advance spells like you guys.", the male explained.

"In this world, which is called Earth, not Earthland, people don't have magic. They think magic is just a fantasy, and it only exists in books. We've been sent by the Magic Council to investigate the group, and the monster here. We are told to not show our magic, or we will be found by the FBI. They would question us about our unknown abilities."

Everyone in the room was now silenced. Team Natsu was surprised that this world doesn't have magic. Which means that no magical energy is available, and they won't be able to use magic.

"You guys will be enrolled into a high school. Don't worry, I'm the principal of the school. The high school's name is Fresno High. It will be located in Fresno, California, which we are in right now. So, I will enroll you tomorrow, since it's a Saturday. I just need your names.", the female asked.

"Lucy Heartfillia."

"Natsu Dragneel."

"Gray Fullbuster."

"Erza Scarlet."

"Okay, that will it for today. By the way, my real name is Jina Viento. My fiancée's real name over here is Aaron Ashcraft. My name in this world is Gina Arrington, and his is Gabriel Ziegler. If you're wondering about our age, I'm 32, and he is 35. Since we are both mages, we both look like we're still 18. Okay, you can now do anything in this house we owned. Our house is next door. Remember, don't break anything, don't use any signs of magic, and we have regular human clothes on that closet. And, oh here, this is a magic energy gum. It gives you a lot of magic energy that will last a whole fight. Use it wisely." Jina said, as she and her fiancée walk out.

Everyone was just staring at the door. Then, they came to their senses, and checked out the clothes in the closet. When they opened it, they were awestruck. It was really organized into categories. One pile was for Erza, one for Lucy, one for Natsu, and one for Gray. They decided to put them on tomorrow morning.

They knew they had to fit into this world, so they wouldn't get caught. But Natsu doesn't, because clearly he's a blockhead, and Erza might even have to behave him, so they wouldn't get into trouble.

Well, at least they know what will come after them tomorrow morning.
