I woke up the next day to the smell of a fire. I pointed by nose in the direction in which I smelled it, and then I heard screaming. "Tch," I scoffed as I went into the direction of the screams. When I reached the village, my eyes widened. There was a fire, and people were scattering about. My heart began thumping uncontrollably. Fire. That dreaded thing caused me hell. "Oi are you just gonna stand there and look pretty or are you gonna help!?" An annoyingly familiar voice barked at me.
"Younger dog brat!" I turned to see Inuyasha, with his little posse. "Who are ya callin' a brat!?" He snapped at me. "Inuyasha, Sit boy!" A girl in weird clothing had yelled. Inuyasha's face was then bashed into the ground by some weird force. I covered my mouth with my kimono to stifle a laugh. "Inuyasha, Kagome. Now isn't the time to be fighting!" Another woman with strange battle armor said. The "Kagome" girl nodded and looked at the village. "Come on Inuyasha, let's go save these villagers!" Their team had ran into the burning village.
"What complete idiots.. Why would you run into the fire? What's so good about saving these stupid humans who probably caused the fire..." I mumbled under my breath. My (H/C) locks were ruffled by the wind and I inhaled deeply. I began to calmly walk through the village, examining the things around me. I was about to turn around and leave when I heard a muffled sob.
"M-Maamaaa!" I whipped my head around to search for the crying child. "S-Savee me... M-Maamaa!" I ran into a nearby house, searching frantically for the child. Wait. Why in the hell am I so concerned over a human boy!? I finally found the boy, behind a burning beam. I used all the strength I could muster to push the beam off and away from the boy. "HaaAAAHHH--!!" The boy looked up at me, with tears in his eyes. I looked down at him, and for some odd reason, he reminded me of myself. I smiled at him, and with kindness in my eyes I had said, "Come." The boy cried out and hugged me by the waist. I had picked him up and held him close to me, and left the burning house to collapse in upon itself.
I began to exit the village, where the villagers had escaped to. I reached the villagers, whom all looked at me in disgust. "What an atrocious half bred demon!" "Kill it!" It probably started the fire!" These words were flung at me like daggers, which only I returned with a menacingly dark glare. But before I could say anything back, the boy looked up and snapped at the villagers. "This nice big sis saved me! You guys are being big meanies!" and then he stuck out his tongue. The villagers all went "Tch" except for one woman. "Hotaru!!" She ran up to me. The boy yelled, "Mama!" and hopped out of my arms. They rejoiced in seeing each other and hugged each other for what seemed like an eternity. "T-Thank you.. f-for saving my s-son.." The mother stuttered, fore she was obviously scared of me. I glanced down and behind myself, not making eye contact with any of the villagers. "Yeah! Thanks for saving me big sis! Will I ever see you again?" The boy said excitedly.
I kneeled down to him and smiled a weak smile. "I'm sorry, young boy. But this will be the last time you see me," I patted his head a couple times before standing back up and taking my leave. The boy had tears in his eyes while screaming towards me, "B-Bye! Big Sis! I'll never forget you!" he waved as hard as his little arm would let him until I could no longer see him in my sight. "Stupid humans, having too much trust in someone or feelings towards someone..."
"Oi, little miss emotional, where are ya goin?" Inuyasha called out to me once I reached the forest. "Shut the hell up you dog breathe bastard," I growled at him. "Ow, thats harsh, ____" My ears perked at the sound of my name. "So he actually did remember my name..." I breathed to myself silently. I noticed myself grinning and blushing for some stupid reason so I held up my kimono sleeve. "W-Where are your companions?" I asked from behind my sleeve.
"They went on ahead. Wait, _____. Why are you hiding behind your sleeve?" He walked up to me. "S-Stay back! You- You idiotic dog for brains!!" I started stepping backwards and tripped over a tree branch. "W-Woaa!!" I started falling. I closed my eyes, ready for impact, but it never came. I slowly opened my eyes, to reveal Inuyasha holding me. "I-Inuyasha!?" My eyes widened. "Are you okay _____? Your face is red. Did you have a fever?" He looked at me concerned. "W-What the hell are you talking about dog..." I turned my face away from him quickly.
"______" A deep voice sounded through the leaves of the trees. I whipped my head up quickly. "S-Sesshomaru...?" I murmured. "SESSHOMARU!?" Inuyasha screamed, surprised. "Let her go you ignorant mutt." Sesshomaru had begun saying coolly. I blushed and squirmed under Inuyasha's grip. "And what if I don't want to, you bastard!?" Inuyasha tightened his grip on me and my eyes widened. Sesshomaru let out a low growl ans glared daggers at Inuyasha. Inuyasha responded with the same sounds.
"She isn't your property to hold," Sesshomaru said lowly. "Then whose is she then?" Inuyasha said angrily. "Mine," Was all Sesshomaru said before stealing me away from Inuyasha. "DO YOU WANNA FIGHT!?" Inuyasha growled at his older brother. "That's just stupid, and a waste of time." Sesshomaru turned to leave and glanced behind his shoulder to see his brother once more, "Don't mess with what is mine, you mutt," Sesshomaru growled. And with that, he ran off, with me in his arms.
