All of this had happened before, and all of this would happen again.

Her digits ghosted over my jawline. She came up behind me, all the while locking her eyes with mine. I craned my neck to maintain eye contact.

She smiled that predatory smile of hers, like she always did when she felt she had me at her mercy.

Soft fingers traced my bottom lip. A shaky quiver of a breath left me, as she laid my secrets and intentions bare with skilled hands.

She saw right through me, and I knew it. I cared little.

"What are we, Gaius?" she purred right above my ear. The sentence rolled off her tongue effortlessly and elegantly, like always.

My stare glided over the mahogany desk in the far corner of the hall, the woven lamp on it, the stacks of untouched errand papers and the work trailing behind them like a shadow.

"I don't know."

My voice was thick and shaking, yet it did nothing to cease her warm breath on my neck.

Her touch wandered down to the hem of my shirt and starts fiddling with the top button.

My breathing rapidly became erratic.

I blinked.

Lee Adama was glaring at me, the president beside him.

"Dr Baltar? Would you be so kind and continue your report?"

I looked around.

She was gone.

"We are lovers, Gaius."
