Nobody ever told me that life was supposed to be this hard. I lose one thing, and my life flips completely over. Well, that thing is a mother, but I mean, why did it have to be so hard.
My name is Tyler Price, and yes, before you ask, I am a girl. My mom always used to tell me that she was a big fan of girls with boy names, because then their personality could wrap around it. Like, if you wanted to be a jock, then Tyler would fit perfectly with the tomboy lifestyle. I never understood what would happen if you wanted to be a prima donna girl though. Tyler doesn’t fit with that kind of lifestyle. I guess I don’t understand a lot of things though. Like, why were both of my parents blonde, but I have brown hair? Why are my eyes blue, but my sister’s are brown? Why did my mother die? I don’t have the answers.
My mom was beautiful. She had light blonde hair, as a result of many days wasted at the hair salon, and the biggest blue eyes, that I so thankfully got from her. She was the standard trophy wife that every man can only dream of having, only my dad got one.
She just recently died in a car accident. Tragic, I know. We couldn’t even have an open casket funeral because her face was so messed up. I can't even believe-
“Tyler Marina Price, get down here and get ready to welcome your sister home. She will be here any minute!”
“Mason, I’ll be down in a minute. I’m working on something.”
“Ty I swear to god if you are making another video about how pathetic your life is I will come up there and give you something real to cry about.”
Mason is my 19 year old sister. Like I said, my mom was obsessed with the guy names. She is almost a replica of my mom, only with brown eyes. She has the same long and blonde hair as her, and everyday I silently wish I was her. She’s got the body and everything. I’d almost throw down money that she is going to be a stay at home mom married to some rich guy that only likes her because he’s tall enough to see down her shirt. She is the definition of my mother, so it would only make sense if she held the same fate.
Owen is my other sister. Honestly, she is the only one that looks remotely close to me. She has Mason’s blonde hair, but my blue eyes. She is also the only one in my family who actually likes me. It’s a good thing though, because she is the only one that I like. She’s sweet, and not like us. She always seems to care about you, and is always sympathetic. I guess being married and having kids will do that to you. They really round her out as a person. She has Natalie, who is just a few years younger than me. Then there is Ryan and Elijah. They are the best kids ever in my opinion.
“Tyler, I’m going to give you about 30 seconds to get down here. If you aren’t down here by then, I am going to personally come up there and beat you, and if you want to live long enough to see Owen, I highly suggest against that.”
I quickly saved the short clip of my video that I had created and trotted down the stairs.
“It’s about time you got down there. No wonder you have no friends, you’re always talking to your computer screen.” Mason said.
“No wonder you have no friends, you’re always acting like a bitch.” I quickly replied with a smirk on my face. I was always the quick witted one in the family, which Mason hated. I almost always had the last word in an argument, but that was mostly because whoever I was arguing with just got tired of being burned by comebacks.
Mason quickly hurdled over the table, knocking all of our candles that we had collected out of the way. I stepped away, but she still proceeded to try and tackle me. She should have known better, because I was always the athlete in the family. I easily flipped us over so that I was on top, and pinned her to the ground.
“Girls, what is going on here?” my dad asked with a sigh. It was easy to tell that my dad was tired of Mason and I fighting, but he knew that whatever he did, he wouldn’t be able to stop it.
“Tyler decided it was a good idea to call me a bitch, so I reacted.” Mason complained from under me.
“Yeah, you reacted like a little girl.” I replied chuckling.
“Tyler, get off of her. We don’t want Owen to walk in and see you two wrestling. You both know that it is hard enough to get her to fly out here, and if you give her a reason to not want to come again, we won’t see her anymore. Now do you really want that?” my dad questioned.
We both shook our heads and looked down ashamedly. I got off of Mason just in time for the doorbell to ring.
“That’s her. Be nice, please. She’s your sister.” Dad said as he walked to answer the door.
I heard Mason mumble below her breath about how I ruined her hair, and how she hates getting tackled, but I just stood there, patiently waiting for Owen to come in.
After hearing her and Dad exchange their hellos, I heard her heels walking down the hallway, followed by the rolling of her suitcase.
“Owen! We missed you so much!” Mason said, walking towards her with her arms opened asking for a hug, only to be denied.
Owen walked over to me and immediately pulled me into a tight hug.
“How are you holding up, champ?” she whispered in my ear.
“I’m alive. That’s something.” I replied quietly.
Owen was the only one who knew that I struggles with the move after mom died. We were originally from Maine, but after everything happened, dad thought it would be best if he moved our whole family out to Arizona. Sadly, Owen and her husband had a little girl, and were moved out, so they weren’t included in the household move. It was especially hard for me, only because I went from being able to walk down the street to my sister’s house to having to take three connecting flights to be within 3 hours of her. It was a big shock for both of us. She’s still not a fan of what dad did, so that’s why she doesn’t visit often.
She pulled out of our hug, then hugged Mason, who was quietly sulking over the fact that she was denied a hug from her older sister.
“Where am I staying?” Owen asked.
“You can stay in my room if you want!” Mason quickly said.
“Owen, why don’t you stay in the green guest room. It has it’s own bathroom.” my dad said.
“That sounds good. I’m going to go put my stuff in there, if that’s okay.” Owen said, grabbing her suitcase and wheeling it down the hallway.
“Oh, Owen, I can help you unpack if you want me to.” Mason said.
“I think I’m good Mase. Thanks though.” Owen replied.
“Oh, okay. Just be back down by 5:45. I’m making your favorite fish!” Mason yelled
This was going to be a long five days.

hi!
I'm going to do the best I can to update often, but I am really busy, so I'm not going to be on any sort of schedule.
I decided that Tyler was Alexis Bledel, Mason was Keira Knightly, Owen was Reese Witherspoon, and their dad (Jordan) was Eric Dane.
As far as their ages go, Tyler is 17, Mason is 19, and Owen is 31.
And my editor was sort of confused at the beginning, so I just wanted to let you know that the beginning is her making a video of her explaining her life, so that's what the "clip" is that she saved.
thank you!!
