I finished off my day smoothly and without a hitch, or running into Hannah.

I ended up having chemistry first period, then calculus after. After calculus, I headed over to the art wing for ceramics 2, since I finished ceramics 1 in Maine. Then, I had lunch. Following that I had European history then creative writing, which substituted my language arts class. It was a relatively easy day for me.

After writing, I walked out to my car to go home for the day. I hopped in my car, turned on the radio and started the short drive home.

As soon as I got home, I ran into Mason and Owen in the kitchen.

“Hey girl, how was your first day?” Owen asked.

“It was okay. Pretty long.” I replied while grabbing an apple from our fruit bowl.

“Did you meet anyone? Any hot boys stumble your way?” Mason asked with a smirk on her face.

“Well, yes I met a few people. One of them was hot, but he was also taken.” I replied while rolling the apple around in my hands.

“Ouch. Good thing you punch hard. Just knock the girlfriend out and take the hottie with you.” Mason said, taking a bite out of her own apple.

“Mase, we aren’t here to promote her getting into fights! Do you think i’m here to just say hi? I have a family at home, all the way across the country I might add. When dad called and said that Tyler was starting a new school, he asked me to come out and be here to prevent her getting into trouble, not help motivate it.” Owen yelled at Mason.

“God, what peed in your Cheerios this morning?” Mason mumbled.

“Mason!” I yelled.

“You know what, I love both of you, but I can’t believe either of you right now. Mason, how could you be so disrespectful of your own sister? She is very successful, unlike you. You’re nineteen for crying out loud. You’ve graduated high school, and you haven’t even considered going to college. I don’t think dad wants you here anymore. And Owen, I can’t believe you. I thought you were here because you loved us. I understand that you have a family at home, but you have a family here too. We have been here your entire life. The fact that you can’t even spend time with us without feeling obligated to makes me sick. I thought you were different. I guess not.” I shot at my sisters.

I grabbed my bag and trudged upstairs.

I can’t believe Owen. I understand Mason acting like this, but this isn’t Owen. I thought that she cared about me. I guess I was wrong.

I plopped down on my bed and pulled out my Macbook, then opened skype. I quickly scrolled through my recent calls, until I found my best friends name. I immediately called her.

After what seemed like hours later, she picked up.

“Hey Ty, what’s up?” she said as soon as I could see her face.

I instantly shoved my face into my pillow when I saw her. I am honestly jealous of her. She was so pretty, she almost made me hate myself. She had reddish-brown colored hair, the prettiest brown eyes, and if you looked hard enough, you could see light freckles scattered on her nose and cheeks.
