My name is Robert, and I live in a dark gloomy forest alone with no settlements for miles away. It was a dark and gloomy stormy day. I was at home finishing up a book named “How to survive the unfortunate” while I finished up a hot cup of coffee by the fireplace. The only sounds I heard were either the rain pouring or the fire crackling as it broke up the wood and sent smoke up the chimney. After a few hours of this I of course ran out of wood for the fire, once realizing this I went ahead and stood out of my comfy chair to grab some more from the outside. I made my way towards the door and searched for my coat and umbrella, sadly the only item I was able to find was my coat which meant I only had a few moments before I got soaked out in the storm. I put on my coat that was mostly meant for cold weather and not wet weather. Then began to walk out into the storm to gather up some more wood alone.

The moment I was outside I realized that the area around my cabin was so flooded that the cold rushing water almost made it to my ankles, luckily I was wearing my heavy duty boots as to not slip in any mud. I grabbed my axe that was laid against a tree a few feet away from my door and continued towards the forest that was covered enough to keep me dry until I got home. I'd go ahead and cut some loose twigs to start a new fire and collect some extra wet logs from last week that I had left due to little storage space inside my home. After collecting everything together I put it into a pile. I took off my coat and put everything into it, creating a bag to take it all with me back home. Once I began my journey it stopped to rain allowing me to keep dry, of course, aside from the flooded trail. But midway home I stopped to catch my breath by a dry spot nearby a tall brown tree and some thorny bushes, soon after I heard a few twigs breaking nearby. Though I thought nothing of it and took a nap.

After around an hour I woke up to the water being up to my waist and the storm being worse than before with thunder and lightning happening frequently. I stood up and decided to jog home to make sure I made it there in one piece. Once I got near I stood under the home porch and put down my wood, twigs, axe, and put my coat back onto myself. I decided to open the door first before heading inside, until it hit me. I forgot my keys, which meant I had to stay out in the cold storm alone. Then I heard a loud lightning strike that sounded so nearby the ground shook right below my feet. I needed to get inside even if I had to use force to do it. I looked around my cabin to see if I had any windows open, no luck. I then tried to see if I could somehow get down the chimney. Question now was how I could get up there. Luckily there was a ladder in my shed nearby. All I had to do was get there without getting too wet as that might catch me a cold, and so this is where everything began to get interesting.
