“Kakarot, why did you ask me to come with? I want nothing to do with this nonsense!” Vegeta got quiet for a moment. “I’m sure she’ll show up soon.”

“But Vegeta, her energy just vanished! Someone took her from our home!”

“Yes, yes, yes. I understand but why did you bring me? Joy and I did not like each other!” I glared at him.

“That’s a lie! She loved everyone! Here, hold this.” I handed him flyers. I began to staple up missing signs. I sighed, staring at her lovely picture. The flyer read:

MISSING: JOCELYN JOY VALLEY

Last seen in East District 439

Weight: 135 LBS Height: 5’0

Hair: Dark Brown Eyes: Greyish Brown

Defining Marks:Small pink marks below her left eye.

Last seen wearing: White sun dress with white Converse. Converse had a tiny star attached to the laces.

There were two pictures attached to the flyer, one from the day she went missing, the other was on just any other day.

I felt pain hit my gut as I looked at her pictures. I sighed and walked around, taping or stapling up posters. Vegeta noticed how much pain I was in and he started to hand out flyers, demanding people look for her.

I heard giggling and the hushed laughs of two girls. I looked up. One had on a pastel dress and had long pink hair. She had a cute girly face and a bubbly laugh. The other was shorter and athletically built. She had on black Converse and black skinny jeans and a white filly top. Her smile was gorgeous, almost identical to Joy’...

I blinked and sighed. They were just teenagers, definitely not Joy. The two girls walked closer and stopped, talking to Vegeta. Well...more the little one spoke.

“Hi, what are you passing out? Everyone in town has one,” She pointed to a flyer. “And we want one!” I walked over and smiled to them. The taller one stood behind the shorter one. I examined both of them.

The taller one had a pastel pink and yellow dress with a green, floppy eared hat on. She had really long pink hair and dark pink, big, glossy eyes. She also kept saying “Nyu.” It was strange.

Then there was the shorter one. She had a gorgeous happy smile, and a light pink mark below her eye and her hair was about the same length as Joy’s….maybe. I mean she was the same height and build and she had the same face, but no… She wasn’t. This girl had bright blood red hair and piercing green eyes. And very pale skin. She also had a blue flower ribbon going around her head. Joy would never wear a bow or anything. No, this girl wasn’t her.

Vegeta handed her a flyer and both girls read it. “So, what happened?”  The redhead girl asked.

I sighed. “She was kidnapped from our home and the police won’t do anything about it.” She nodded.

“Yeah, the police are dumb. Nyu here was attacked and we rescued her and they’re calling us kidnappers, but they refuse to get her. It’s weird.”

“Who was she attacked by?”

“Soldiers with guns.”

The girl, Nyu, suddenly spoke and covered the little one’s ears. “Boom, Boom, Pow, Pow!”

The little one laughed and hugged the bigger one. “Nyu, stop!”

Vegeta eyed me and shrugged. “Why’d they attack her though?”

The little one shrugged. “Mistaken identity. They thought she was some awful murder but look at her! She can’t even tie her own shoes. She’s too innocent to be able to hurt anyone!”

I smiled and nodded at them. We all stood there, awkwardly; Me, Vegeta, Nyu and the little one with the red hair. The little one smiled as she looked at Joy’s picture. “She’s quite beautiful.” She looked up at me. “Who was she?”

“Her name is--”

“No. Who was she? Who did she leave behind.”

Oh...She was a girlfriend and a soon-to-be wif. Well I hadn’t proposed yet but I planned to. Sh was like a mother to my son. She was gorgeous and kind. She was a singer and a fighter. She was a friend.” I felt myself get emotional and I caught Vegeta’s eyes. He nodded, in agreement.

The little one opened her mouth to speak when a shout caught her off guard. “Desi!” She slowly turned and was tackled by a young girl. An older boy walked over to us. The boy hgged the bigger girl. The little one bumped into me. I quickly helped her stand straight up. Her hand touched mine and a shock came from it. Something deep inside me longer for her touch and I saw her eyes quickly change colors. They flashed from green to grey. It was so strange...She stood there, her eyes slowly turning green again. She looked up at me and I saw words form on her lips but they never came.

Vegeta cleared his throat and the girl who had tackled her smiled. “Khota! I found Desi!”

The girl with the red hair smiled at the young girl. “Hi Mayu.”

The boy quickly let Nyu go as another two girls joined us. “There you are, Desi! We’ve been looking all over or you and Nyu!” A girl with short pink hair with a purple bow claimed.

A girl with brown hair frowned. “Desi, you should know better than to run off without telling us. You know how cruel people are!”

“I’m sorry…” The girl with the red hair, Desi, whispered. “I just wanted a flyer. Someone is missing.”

Mayu blinked. “A lot of people are missing these days.”

The only boy besides Vegeta and I, stepped forward. “Yes, Desi, but you’re still injured. Remember your accident a few days ago?” Desi’s hand went to her bow and she winced.

“No I don’t.”

The boy sighed, “See this is why you still need rest!” He put his arm around her. “Come on, let’s go home.”

She nodded and smiled at me. “I’ll look for Joy, okay?” I nodded and her and her friends walked away.

“There’s tension between you and the red head. Why?” Vegeta whispered, sounding coy.

I glared and tried to shrug off his comment and the lingering effects of the shock. “How should I know?” I barked back.

He laughed his prideful laughed. “Did you see something, Kakarot?”

I shook my head. “Her eyes changed and I felt like I knew her, that’s all.” I got irritated with his smile. “Come on, we still have more posters to put up!” He smirked and we went off, putting up more posters. I looked at Joy’s picture and my heart ached a little harder. “I’ll find you baby, I promise.”
