I laid awake staring up at the ceiling. I couldn't sleep. I got out of bed and walked over to the balcony door. I opened it and stepped outside. The air was cool but it was a nice breeze. I put my elbows on the railing and let the wind blow through my hair. I looked out at the view of the big city. I moved my elbow slightly, accidentally hitting the plant pot off the railing. The pot shattered on the cement sidewalk below. I covered my mouth and ran back inside. I heard somebody yell from down the street and I closed the door. I sat down against the door looking around the small hotel room. I always leave the bathroom light on. I have been afraid of the dark ever since I was little. I've never left the TV on though. I always thought it would waste power. I got up from the floor and went back into bed. I closed my eyes and eventually fell asleep
