Rival's X For X Survival

Lucy's Pov

Me, Kurapika and Leorio arrive at Zaban city and three of us are fascinated by the bustling selling and trading businesses there. We stop where a high-rise building stands, where we thought it's the exam site. The navigator then leads us to a small restaurant beside it instead. The navigator orders "Steak Combo", grilled over a low flame from the chef, who tells us to go to the backroom. The "order" turns out to be the password to the backroom, which is actually an elevator that goes a hundred floors underground to the tunnel where applicants wait. He praises and wishes us luck. He says "I will be willing to guide all of you again for the next hunter exam." I thank him, but the navigator seems to be taken aback and is pleased.

While the elevator descends, Kurapika deduces "The navigator seems to expected us to fail the exam, since a rookie passing it is rare indeed." I guess that the Hunter Exam is a risk worth taking, to which Leorio and Kurapika reply with a list of great advantages of being a hunter. They even argue about their opinions and ideologies about being a Hunter and ask me what type of Hunter do I want to become. But before they can finish arguing, I stopped them "Guys, stop! We can talk bout this ltr. I have smt important to say."

"Hmm? U need anything?" Kurapika asks.

"I won't be talking too much in the exam. So if u ask me questions, I may nod or shake my head. Sometimes if the question needs to be answered I will answer. But I won't take of my mask."

"Oh, I was wanting to ask why were u wearing a mask all time?" Leorio asks.

"Oh, because I want to. I wanna keep my identity a secret as a hunter."

"Why-" Before Leorio finish his question, the elevator 'ding' and we assume we reached the exam site.

When we reach the tunnel, we see many people there. All the participants silently noticed the new arrivals and Kurapika stares at them, seeing that each one of them was one in ten thousand. Bean rushes forward to give us our number badges and suddenly, number 16 jumps down and says that our arrival makes the candidates' numbers swell to four hundred and five. Introducing himself as Tonpa, he says "I can see u guys are new. I am someone of an expert examine, I have taken the Hunter Exam thirty-five times including the current one, ever since I was ten years old."

Leorio notes "U seems proud of having failed thirty-four times." I asks Tonpa "Do u know everyone who's here to take the exam?"

Tonpa replying in the affirmative and says "I know just about everyone who's here. Number 103 is Bourbon, a snake charmer; number 76 is Cherry, a martial artist; number 255 is Todo, a wrestler; numbers 197-199 are the three Amori brothers, who specialized in teamwork; number 384 is Geretta, a huntsman specializing in darts and clubs.

 Suddenly Tonpa's introduction is interrupted as a shriek echoes through the tunnel.

I see number 58 was the one whose screaming. Hisarms had just been cut off by another candidate. Tonpa introduce "This is number 44, Hisoka, a magician. I've been certained Hisoka would pass last year but then he ended up getting disqualified for attacking an examiner he did not respect."

Leorio asks "Why Hisoka had been allowed to retake the exam if he had attacked an examiner in the past exam?"

Tonpa responds "They got new examiners each year who decided what the tests would be and who could take them, to further illustrate his point. Even the devil himself could pass the Hunter Exam if an examiner deemed it so. Hisoka had taken out twenty examinees last year, so the three of u better steer clear of him as he no doubts wanted to improve on that score."

Tonpa says "There are others like Hisoka as well who would try to do the newcomers in but I would show them the ropes."

 A bunch of examinees nearby begin to silently chuckle at this, I heard them say "He's the real cruel one... Pretending to be kind while secretly planning on crushing rookies.The trio have become the next in a long line of newcomers duped by the "Rookie Crusher" Tonpa."

 Pulling out some soda cans, Tonpa offers "Here drink this. It's a token of friendship." to us saying to make a toast to friendship and luck before the exam begins. 

We accept the drinks, however, I alr know that the drinks were spiked with a high strength laxative that would leave us in no position to be taking the exam. But it's ok. I've alr immune to all kind of poisons. But the main point is Kurapika and Leorio..... What should I do?

"Hey Tonpa! I think Kurapika and Leorio's soda are expired!" I shout. "Eh? U sure?" Leorio asks. 

"Yes!"

"How are u sure?" Kurapika asks, testing me.

"I can smell! Its weird!"

"Ok then." Kurapika says pouring the drinks on the floor while Leorio does the same. Then they walk past Tonpa.

Tonpa's Pov

The laxative was nearly odorless and tasteless, how can that little girl smell it out....? 

Then the little girl walk past me and whisper "It's no use. I can smell any poison no matter how tasteless and odorless and no smell it is. Oh, and btw, I'm immune to all kinds of poison so it's useless to me. And hurt my friends, I won't let u live that easily." 

I can feel her smirking while saying that. She then walks to her friends who is now alr behind me and far away. She's dangerous and I can feel that. Better not mess with her.

Another rookie applicant, I think his name is Killua approaches me and asks for another can of juice. I gives him and then he drinks it, and then tells me that the poison from the juice, does not affect him. His just like that little girl. Seems innocent but dangerous. 

Lucy's Pov

I thought I smelt a scent. But..... I can't remember who that is..... That person's scent gives me a familiar feeling. But I dont remember. Did I lost memories of that person? I don't think his important anyways.

"Line up.....! The test is about to start! My name is Satoz!" an examiner appears.

Nah... Let's focus on the exam first.
