"Daisies symbolize innocence and purity"

The next day you returned to the shop with a newfound resolve.

At first, you weren't sure if the boy wanted anything else to do with you. After all, he just did what any normal kind person would've done if a stranger wandered in soaked from head to toe by the rain.

But after yesterday you were sure of it. At the very least he remembered you. He even gave you another present. You don't do that for people you have no interest in right? You weren't the best with social interactions, but you were somewhat sure it meant he wanted to befriend you.

You tried to ask Mai for advice but she admitted she didn't have the slightest clue what to do about it either. She suggested just going there and talking to him; rather than overthinking it and avoiding him. You however had doubts about that particular method since he didn't seem like he was big on talking either.

So instead here you were, with a freshly made box of cupcakes and a little book you brought from the bookstore you worked at. '51 TIPS FOR HEALTHIER LONGER LASTING PLANTS'

It was a poor attempt at a gift but truly you had no idea what else to give him. You just hoped he wasn't picky about frosting flavours.

When you finally reached the quaint little shop, your heart sank seeing the large 'closed' sign on the door. Granted, it was a weekend so it wasn't as surprising as it was disappointing.

Your lips set into a small frown as you sighed then turned to leave. You'd barely made it two steps down the street when you heard a faint crash come from inside. Your eyes widened in alarm and before you knew it you were pushing the door open.

You were momentarily surprised that it was unlocked but brushed that off to focus on locating the source of the noise, silently praying that the white-haired boy was not hurt. As you rounded the corner to the backroom you noticed a small pile of mismatched items cluttered on the floor and a box in the midst of it.

Your frown deepens. No one else was in here, so where could the crash have come from?

You put the box of cupcakes and the book down on a nearby paint bucket then squat down to pick up the box. The second your fingers grasped the cardboard, you heard rustling underneath it. You screamed when you saw a fabric-covered mass moving.
By the time you finally realized what it was, the startled florist had also come to investigate the noise.

His body shook with quiet laughter as he took in the scene before him; the person he'd met the other day was huddled against a bunch of boxes and his pet turtle staring them down.

Your own panic slowly melted away hearing his laugh and soon you found yourself joining in as well. The turtle paid you no mind anymore, it's focus now on its owner.

Your laughter had nearly subsided until you saw his outfit. Now to be clear it wasn't that it looked bad, as a matter of fact, you'd call it downright adorable. It was just so odd to see such a huge intimidating guy with a brightly coloured flower sun hat, yellow rubber gloves and a giant bunch of daisies.

His cheeks turned rose pink as he seemed to realize what you were laughing at. "I wasn't expecting any company..." he mumbled lowly, rubbing the back of his neck.

You tried to hide your smile as you shook your hands. "No no I'm not laughing at that it's just-" another fit of laughter overtook you.

You hadn't noticed but this time embarrassment was the last thing he felt as he watched you. He hadn't seen you smile like that before and he decided that a few more minutes in this embarrassing get up would be worth it.

When you finally calmed down, he had already moved to gently pick up the turtle. You'd never heard of a turtle smiling before, but it sure looked like it was when he cuddled the small thing to his chest.

"Her name is Daisy," he spoke up suddenly as he looked over at you.
How funny it was to find out your crush's turtle's name before his.

"Hi, Daisy. my name is (l/n) (f/n)," you respond by holding your hand out to her, but keeping your eyes on him. The boy's blush grew impossibly brighter as he awkwardly put the turtles 'hand' to shake yours.

"You have a lovely name." he complimented, inching just the slightest bit closer to you. He surveyed the bunch of daisies he had set down before, then picked one of the best ones and offered it to you.

"Thank you..." you eyed the name tag on his shirt. "Aone." you finished softly.

"Oh, before I forget, I brought you something," you got up to grab the box and book you had set down before, and Aone had to stop himself from frowning at your missing warmth.

"It isn't much but I wanted to say thank you for yesterday. And the day before that," you added, opening the box to him as you sat down again. You didn't miss the way he immediately inched closer to you, though you told yourself it was probably just to get a better view of the box.

"I hope you like vanilla.I tried not to make it too sweet,"

He reached for the one closest to him, popping off a bit of strawberry to feed Daisy before taking a big bite. Up until that point, Aone never really had a particular fondness for the flavour, but after watching their eyes light up when they thought he liked it changed his mind.

It was now his favourite.
