Frankie POV
"Quick edele" i snapped, urging her to quicken her pace down down the rusted ladder.
" im trying " she replied
The earlier down pour of rain hindered our grip , resulting in a dangerous descend.
I looked up sharply, only to find the 2 men persuing . Getting closer and closer. Our capture would almost certainly end in mine and edeles demise
Nearing the bottom of the building, we jumped knowing that it was our only choice.
I grabbed edeles wrist causing her watch strap to unfasten. We started to run down dark ally. Yanking her arm vigorously, her timepiece fell to the damp concrete.
"Frankie stop!, my watch" feeling a resistance from edele i force her to continue. Knowing that 'they' wouldnt be far behind.
"Forget about it! Ill get you a new one" i hissed back, automatically feeling regret.
"Edele get us out of this ally" i panted realising that she knew this area better than myself
"Follow me" she beckoned
As we ran the puddles splashed up my jeans . This did not deter me anymore! Zig zagging through the dust bins, i tip some over. Praying that the murderes would encounter them. Then i thought...
"Edele stop" i shout between my deep heavy breathing.
Not noticing at first, she comes to hault , forcing both hands on her head.
" what what?"
"Listen, i cant hear any footsteps, maybe we lost them ?" I pray Confirming that they had gone, we began to walk
"I fucking hope so, why the hell should i trust you?!"
"I never got time to explain properly and now is neither the time or place edele!"
"Well when is it ever the right fucking time with you? Ive lost everything and now we are fucking stranded!" "Edele! You dont understand what is fucking happening! Dont you dare get all pissy with me! Im sorry that i dragged you in! But i didnt know who to trust" I replied begining to lost my temper
"Okay I'm sorry but what did you expect me to frankie say thank you for ditching me thank you for dragging me out of my apartment whilst two men bash down my door and chase us down the street!"
"I'm sorry Edele, so sorry just.. Long story short I witnessed one of them kill someone and now they want me and to kill me too"
"Frankie! I-what?!"
"We have no time for this Edele"
"I can't believe this" her face pale as she searched my face hoping I was fucking about with her. Noticing I was being honest and all this was real and I wasn't lying she shook her head placing her head in her hands.
"Um, right uh okay whats our next move then?" She complied
"We need to find a way out of this ally"
"Look frankie! up ahead " I concentrated my vision on the spot of light. thank god this tirering passage was coming to an end!
"Come on" i chant pointing forward at the same time.
We increase our pace and reach the street pavement. But all of a sudden we were blinded with deadly bright headlights. It was them!
Terrified, edele began to run back down the ally, i had no other choice but to follow her!
Thankfully The walls were too narrow for their car to fit down. The addrenaline was pumping round my body causing me shake a little
I turned aroung briefly, to realise that the 4 men departed from the car! But now one had a gun. I was thrown off balance slightly but it was soon regained knowing if i fell, it was all over, i caught up with edele who was equally scared.
The footsteps behind up grew quieter, maybe they have given up i wondered, But from out of nowhere BANG BANG. Bullets ricochet of the damp ally walls.
"Just keep running " i shout in edeles dirrection
But then all of a sudden....
"FUCK! ive been hit" shit Frankie im bleeding" edele screams her limp body hits the ground as she screams in agony.
"Fuck" i reply as i turn around seeing the girl and her gripping her leg which was oozing with blood that was flowing from her wound.
"Cmon grab my arm" i chant
"Im not going to make it! Leave me, go on! ill distract them motherfuckers"
"No! Edele I'm not leaving you! Cmon grab my arm" I hoist her up wrapping my arm around her waist as I grab the other one and place it around my shoulders. Her full weight resting in me for support as she limps, moans and whimpers come from her mouth, once again she falls to the floor crying.
"Cmon Edele there coming!!" Fear evident in my voice as I look back to see the four men approaching
"frankie! Just bloody go, i trust you! Dont worry about me" she snapped
"But!-"
"GO NOW! I'll be fine!" "RUN!" She shouts pushing me forward as she turns
Realising my grip as they were etching ever closer, i couldnt argue with her anymore
"I'm so so sorry Edele" i sob, my cheeks puffy eyes red. All ready feeling regret i turn and continue to run, not looking back. My legs were starting to turn numb and my lungs burning furiously but still i carried on tears falling freely from my face I sob harder
This was it, no going back now
I ran behind a car, my two fists hitting the door repeatedly setting the alarm off, I didn't care though. I slid down the side placing my head in my arms my body shaking, once again rain started to pour from the sky I looked up, I couldn't even tell whether it was the rain or tears sliding down my face, what did it matter anyway.
Hours of sitting and sobbing, the sun was starting appear through the dense over cast clouds. I have to find somewhere i thought to myself and quick, but not before I get some help.
