Chapter 6

CARRIES POV

Kit carried me off of the metal table, and into my cell.

"The monsters. They were there. They didn't kill me obviously." I said while Kit gave me a glass of water.
"What happened?" he asked me holding on to one of left hand. I forgot I still had my wedding ring on.
Kit looked at it and let go of my hand.
I looked at The ring and then Kit.
I slid the small ring off of my finger and threw it into the hallway.
Kit smiled at me.
"They brought me to where they are. Something was growing inside me. It was bright and white." I went on. "I didn't think I could live through it. I felt as if I were being torn into a million tiny pieces. But then they brought me back." I smiled as I held onto Kits hand.
"Did you see anyone?" He asked.
"No, just the green men." I said.

I knew who he wanted to see. Alma.
"I know how much you loved her Kit." I said. "She sounded amazing."
"Why do you think they came to me and you?" He asked me.
He didn't want to see Alma I guess. He wanted answers.
"I don't know Kit." I said. "You're special. We're special. They came to us for a reason." I gripped harder in his hand as I leaned forward.
"I'm going to find that reason." He said standing up. I'm going to go cancel your session with Thredson." he walked up and left.

He was too worried about me.
He wouldn't let me get up out of bed.

He did love me. Did he?

I know he loved alma so much. She must have been an amazing person.
I wish Justin loved me that much.
Kit does though, and every day I'm so thankful for him.
He's the only hope I have left.

KITS POV

I walked into Thredson's office.
"Hey Thredson, Carrie isn't feeling well." I said. "So don't expect her."
"Okay thank you Kit." He said as he turned to face me.
"Sit. We'll have another session."
He plopped my file onto the desk.

It said in bold red letters. GUILTY.

"YOU ASSHOLE!" I yelled destroying the tape.
"Kit. I can't pretend you didn't do it. It's time to stop playing." He joked.
"IM NOT BLOODY FACE!" I screamed.
"What day is it Kit?" He asked me.
"It's March second. Why?" I asked him.
"You have nine days left at Briarcliff." He smiled. "Get out of my office. Murderer."

That meant I only had nine days to get Carrie out if this place.

I only had nine days of my life.

Shit.

CARRIES POV

"DAMMIT!" I heard Kit tell from down the hall.
"Kit!" I got up and walked down the hall looking for him.
"Hey Carrie. We need to talk." His face was read. His veins were popping. His eyes. They were full of rage.
"Okay come on." I led him to my cell and sat down with him.

"I only have nine days." He said.
"For what?" I insisted.
"Until they fry me in that damn chair!" He yelled as he got up.

My eyes welded up with tears.

"I'm going to get you out if this place and back to your home." he said holding me tight.

"Kit. What about Lana?" I said. Lana was my best friend now. Besides Kit, but I wasn't sure if we were still just friends.

"Thredson is getting her out." He said as he paced along the wall.

Damn.

Kit and I spent his last few days together.

Until the day he left.

"NO! DAMMIT LET ME GO!" He screamed in pain as they dragged him away.

"I love you kit!" I yelled as he yells the same thing back.

"Ms. Mars, please come with me." I heard Sister Jude call for me from the hallway.

I walked out of the common room and walked with Jude as we entered her office.

"It seems you need a checkup." She said as she folded her hands on the desk.
"I had one a week ago." I replied.
"We never got to that. Dr. Montgomery is ready to see you right now." Jude said as she got up and motioned me to follow.

I Then realized that I never got to see the doctor because I was taken by the monsters. I couldn't tell Jude though she would send me to shock therapy. I couldn't forget what happened. Lana and Kit were the only people I could trust. Kit was gone and Lana was about to get out.

"Hello, doctor." I said as we entered.
"Hello Miss Mars. Let's check you out." He said as he smiled.

He told me to breathe in and out as he held the stethoscope to my belly.

"Hmm, that's odd. I'm not getting anything." He said as he held it to my lower stomach. "Can you lay down for me?"
I did as he said.
He felt my lower stomach.
"Ouch!" I yelped as he stopped.
"Do you feel bloated at all?" He asked. "Or do you feel anything down there?"
"I do feel bloated and sometimes I get contractions for no reason." I said.
"Well it's for a reason Miss. Mars." He said putting the stethoscope on the counter.
"You're pregnant." He said.
"I'm going to be a mother!" I cried. Kits baby.
"Yes Miss Mars." He said shaking my hand. "Congratulations."
"Thank you doctor!" I said hugging him.
"Come back in two weeks from today for an ultrasound!" He yelled.

I raced back to Jude's office.

"Sister Jude! Please I just have one request!" I said begging.
"Yes Ms. Mars?" She said looking up at me.
"Please drive me to the jail. I need to speak with Kit." I said as I went over to her. "Please."
She hesitated.
"I was in love once." She said. She stared for a moment.
"Okay. Get a jacket."
Sister Jude picked up her keys as I smiled.
"Thank you Sister!"

I put on my sweater and went with Jude.

I watched out the window as we pulled into the jail yard.

KITS POV

"Hey Walker you got a visitor!" The officer yelled opening my cell.

I went into the visiting room and seen carrie.
I ran to the table and hugged her.

"Kit!" She said with tears under her eyes.
"Carrie! Did you escape?" I asked. Then I seen Jude.
"Oh never mind." I laughed.

"Kit. I have news." She said smiling and crying.

"I'm pregnant!" She said as she cowered.

"Oh my god. I'm gonna be a dad!" I rejoiced.

I wrapped my arms around her as my eyes overflowed with tears of joy.

"I'm getting out of here. I told them about the monsters and the judge thinks I need to come back to Briarcliff." I said pulling away and grasping her shoulders.

"Kit. You can't go back to Briarcliff." She said.

"I have to. It's the only way to keep you and out baby safe." I knelt down and held her stomach.

"Kit." She said holding my head up. "It's no place to raise a child."

"Well at least he or she would have a dad." I said kissing her forehead as the officer dragged me back to my cell.

"I love you Kit." She called as Jude took her.

I was going to be a father. I just wanted to be a decent one.
