Here I was, sitting in a gorgeous library with Jay. Jay's pink lips sat in a perfect straight line, as he looked down on the pages of a book. I take a look at the title and smile. Oh yes, he was reading one of the best mystery books in the world. The books was called "Monnalisa's Growl" by Henry Scottinfield. The book was about a young girl Jannesa who was desperate to prove herself, as one of the top criminals, so she flies to France by sneaking on a plane and breaking into the loove. Then that's when it all happens. She steals the Monnalisa and replaces the painting with a phony, but with a twist. Instead of a mysterious smile....she has a mysterious growl.
I thought the book would be lame, but it turned out being one of my favorites. The book is actually very intense and suspenseful, when you actually read it. "Have you read this one?" Jay ask looking up at me. "One of the best." I say, while placing a strand of my curly hair behind my ear. Then all of a sudden started my chest started to ache terribly. My forehead started feeling like a furnace, so I stand up from the comfortable chair I was sitting in. "Are you alright?" Jay ask with concern in his voice. I nod my head. "Yeah, I just gotta' use the restroom. Be right back.". I walk to the bathroom, while holding my chest to conceal the pain. "Ouch!" I scream, as what seems like a claw slashes through me. My head was starting to bead with sweat. My feet rush to the bathroom quickly.
When I finally find the bathroom, I start to wet a paper towel with cold water. I let the paper towel rest on my forehead, while I dig in my purse for some medicine. My body quickly inserts a pill, but the pain still aches. My head only cooled down a little bit. I decide I need to woman-up right this instant, so I step out of the bathroom with pride. I walk back into the library, as if nothing had just happened. "Hey, Jay! I'm back." I say, he quickly looks up at me. For a moment our eyes both lock into each other's for a brief moment, when I sit down. "I love that spark of gold in your eyes, Empress." He complements. "Thanks. You have amazing hair!" We both laugh. I stand up to pull an interesting looking book off the shelf. The title is "Ignite Valley". "Whatcha' got there?" Jay ask peeking at the pages. "I don't know. New book." I respond. I open the book, and I am taken by the gold embroidering around the pages. "Pretty!" I squeal. The first page literally made me gasp. I was speechless. This book feels like it was...meant for...me. The Heading was in big fancy lettering that read "Fire Queens". The section that made me jump in my seat was
"Fire Queen powers are passed down inherently by the mother. Mother's pass the Fire Queen throne by holding their daughter's hands shortly before death. Usually daughters will feel a heavy sensation, when the powers are transferred to them. If you've been passed down to be a fire queen the symptoms will include:
-Aching Chest Pain
-Easily able to get burned
-Random Sweating
-Dangerously High Fevers".
I quickly shut the book, and the book seemed to...vanish. "Jay, have you ever heard of 'Fire Queens'?" I question, looking up at him. "Actually, yes I have. Where I'm from it's a big deal." He answers.
"Really? Where are you from?" I ask sitting up.
He paused for a moment and examined my face "I knew it! How couldn't I have seen this before?" Jay boast out.
"W-what do you mean?" I ask confused.
"You're the famous-Oh my gosh!" Jay shouted pacing back in forth. The librarian commands him to lower his voice, so he does. He bends down, and squeals "Empress, you are our Fire Queen!".
