Tim's POV

Bruce left about an hour ago and everything so far was quiet. Damian had went to the train and I went to the library to finish the book I was currently reading.

It was now 6:30 now, so I decided I would go and fix something to eat. I'll make extra for Damian because without Alfred he tends to just train through dinner. I won't try and make him eat, if I did that he'd just be stubborn and not eat at all. I'll just tell him there's some in the kitchen waiting for him.

I walked down the stairs and into the kitchen. I decided I would make spaghetti. Alfred showed me how to make it a few years ago and I knew Damian liked it.

I took me about 45 minutes to finish everything and I was done. I went to tell Damian and found him in the upstairs gym hitting a punching bag. Bruce had made sure to lock all the entrances to the Batcave not wanting us going on any solo-patrols while he was gone. I stood there in the doorway, taking note of his form.

Normal POV

(Yeah, weird timing to change POV, but I didn't want to write this part in Tim's point of view.)

After about 5 minutes, Tim announced his presence, "You'll hurt yourself doing that."

Damian quickly turned around in surprise and glared at him, "I do not need your advice, Drake."

"I'm just trying to help. If you keep your fists clenched, you'll hurt yourself. Keep them loose and tighten them at the last second. You'll get more force that way too." He explained. (I made this up. I have no idea if it's true.)

"I don't need your help. I can take care of myself, so you can just go back to your books." He told Tim, voice filled with hate.

Tim looked at him, anger and slight confusion on his face, "What did I do to you that makes you hate me so much?" He had stepped into the room, no longer in the doorway.

Damian walked towards him as he talked, "You really want to know? Fine. I am fathers true son and heir. You are not related to him by blood. Simply by papers. So why does he favor you over me. I have put everything into my training to be Robin and still he trusts you more! You are not my brother, Drake! In my eyes, you are a nuisance! I will show father that I am better than you and then I will have his respect!" At this point Damian was standing in front of Tim looking up at him.

Tim stood there in shock. The last thing he would have guessed was that he was....jealous. "Damian. You don't understand. Bruce doesn't favor me over you. If anything he's prouder of you. Bruce knows how much you train and how much refrain yourself from....using your own method when we're on the field. Damian....Bruce has more respect for you than any of us. He only put me in charge because you can sometimes get carried away. And I'm sorry you don't see me as a brother. I honestly wish we more like brothers."

Now, it was Damian's turn to be shocked. He stared wide eyed Tim, trying to understand what he was just told. He was surprised to find out that his father did respect him, but what shocked him the most was that Tim wanted him as a brother.

"R-Really?" he asked hesitantly, afraid the words would be taken back, but was only met with a small nod from a softly smiling Tim.

"I-I apologize for what I said." He said sheepishly looking away.

Tim smiled and put a hand on his shoulder, "It's fine. Hey, I almost forgot. I came in here to tell you that I made spaghetti. It's in the kitchen."

Damian gave a rare smile, though Tim had a feeling it would become more common, "Well, let's eat then."

They both ate in the dining room (The family one that is. It would have been awkward talking from across the 20 foot table Bruce used when they had business guests.) and talked. Before they knew it, it was 11 at night. They went to bed, both feeling as if a weight were lifted off their shoulders.

(Sorry, it took me so long to update 😅)
