While riding in the ambulance there was no noise but my loud thoughts, Even the sounds of the sirens didn't even have a noise in this moment. As soon as I saw his chest stop raising and falling, I felt like my word started to go a monotone shade. Everything began to lose sense and meaning, when he stopped breathing, I stopped as well feeling my heart beat slower and slower by the passing seconds. I didn't take another breath until my vision started to go blurry but that was because tears started to form in my eyes. I didn't take my hand off of his even if the tears started to show more and more. His cold hands began to go colder by each passing minute, I began to squeeze his hand while holding onto hope by a sliver.
"Geo- George-..." I mumbled in broken words,
. . .
"Please." I said, holding my head down afraid to see how pale he was getting, the tears fell down in a hurry not waiting for a second to stop.
. . .
"Please George, you still have so much to live for...It's not time for you to leave yet, leave me..." I cried out not holding back the tears falling.
. . .
"I'll hold you till the end of time George, even if it means for the last time." I Said picking my head back up to say it straight to George's cold resting face even if he couldn't hear me. A few seconds would pass and I would feel a little movement on my hand, but I thought it was just my hand twitching. But 5 seconds later I would again feel the same moment but this time just a little better, I looked up in a hurry to see George struggling to open his eyes in the slightest.
"George." I said softly while tilting my head a little to the right.
"Dre- Dream" he said in a soft tone barely making out my name.
"You're okay George, you'll be alright trust me on that ok?"
"I tr- trust you Dream." George replied, still managing to smile even though he stopped breathing for about 5 minutes.
"I love you George... I always will." I said sobbing uncontrollably.
"I love you too Dream... Forever."
"Forever." I answered back, kissing his hand that was still holding onto mine. And then just like that he went unconscious again, but this time his rising and falling chest kept an easy pace. I was relieved but visibly still worrying and sobbing.---
-The waiting Room-It was currently midnight and I was still sitting in the same seat for 7 hours not wanting to move the slightest afraid to stumble and fall. But during those 7 hours, I called George's parents and his friends to let them know what was happening. George's parents were frantic when I first called them, same with his friends but they took a little longer to get to the hospital than George's parents. Once they got here they asked me what exactly happened, I told them what I thought happened and when I found George beaten up in the park. His mother started to cry into her hands while she sat into a chair behind her, then his dad sat next to her trying to comfort her. After about 5 hours of waiting they decided to go home and rest
"When you're able to see him, can you give us a call."George's mother said as she wiped the remaining tears off of her face.
"Forsure." I replied with a dull smile.
And that was about 2-3 hours ago, but I last track from daydreaming and worrying about George.---
-an hour later-I heard a woman's voice call for my name, and then I got up in a flash from my seat and walked over stumbling a little bit.
"Are you Clay?" She asked,
"Yes I am."
"Would you like to follow me to see your friend George?" she asked while smiling.
"Yes please." I would follow the women to George's room only to see a whole bunch of machines and iv's connected to him. When I entered the room the woman told me that George wouldn't be able to wake up because he was in a coma. She gave me an estimated time for how long he was going to be in a coma for, she said about 3 weeks to 4 months. As soon as I heard the estimated time, my heart fell into an empty hole within my chest.
"Thank you." I answered, and then she continued to walk away.
I began to walk over to George's bedside to see how he was doing. I grabbed a chair from my left and brought it over to his bed so I could sit and stay with him.
"I know you probably can't hear me, but it's worth a shot." I chuckled with a faint smile.
. . .
I sigh and continue to say,
"I'm glad that you're alive George, I wouldn't know what to do without you." I said letting the tears run down my face.
"But I'm also sorry, I have made so many promises to protect you, but I've failed each time..."
"There has never been a time where I could protect you, and I feel so useless for that." I said squeezing my hands into two fists while also grinding my teeth.
"What type of boyfriend am I if I can't even protect you in the slightest." The tears streamed down my face.
"And now look at what happened to you just because I wasn't there to keep you safe." I looked down.
. . .
"But in all seriousness you're still mine, and I will never let you down again, I promise." I smiled gently while looking up to grab George's small hands, and for once they were warm. That put me in a state of calm.
"I'll love you forever George."Author note: *Ahem* THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR 8K READS, The last time I uploaded I was only at 7k reads and that was like 2-3 weeks ago I think, but like this is crazy thank you so much! Also in this chapter I might've gotten a few of the hospital facts wrong, so sorry if I did! Also a little easter egg or a fact is that when they said "Forever" It was something that they both said in the Forever chapter (11 chapter) enough of me talking, thank you <3
