Kailey's P.O.V.

I groaned as my eyes opened, my head felt like it was pounding. I pulled the blanket on me off and attempted to get out of the bed I was in but I was interrupted.

"I wouldn't do that darlin, you hit your head when fainted."

My body froze when that bittersweet accent came to my ears. The sound of his boots on the hardwood got closer and closer to the best.

I couldn't look up at all, if I saw his eyes I would become vulnerable.

"Kailey,"

Don't do it.

"Kailey, look at me."

I bit my lip and looked up into his beautiful green eyes. A relieved smile appeared as he locked eyes with mine. His hand gently held my face in it, his thumb ran across my cheek. "You are really here." He mumbled happy.

"Hey Country Boy." The familiar words left my mouth and my heart flutter still locked in those eyes.

His green eyes were filled with a bunch of emotions but there was one that was prominent. Hurt.

"You left." He said, I felt like I was getting punched "You left and you didn't even say goodbye."

"Jeff-"

He pulled away from me and looked down "You just disappeared without saying a word. One moment we were all ready for graduation and then... " He paused, he took a deep breath for moment.

I looked at him, I felt confused. "Look I know you are upset at me but I don't understand why you keep saying I left without saying goodbye. You know I left you that note in your room. I told you I was leaving and I said-" I stopped myself when I remembered what I said in the note.

Jeff looked me, unaware of what I was talking about. "I have no idea what you are talking about." He shook his head and chuckled "You wrote to me in a note instead of saying goodbye?"

I looked down at my lap, "I-i needed to get away. From everything. I felt lost and I just-" I shook my head "I am sorry Jeff. I shouldn't have left without saying goodbye. You guys deserved better than that." I said, my voice cracking at the end. I bit my lip to stop myself from crying.

His green eyes locked with mine, they traveled down to my mouth. He brought his hand up to my lips and his thumb gently touched my bottom lip. "Don't bite your lip." He said, his voice sounded deeper. My eyes widened a little when I heard it.

He looked back at me, it was the first time I really got a good look of his face. He looked the same but a little older. Still gorgeous. His hair was still blonde but some of it was dyed red. I smiled softly, he was still Jeff.

He smiled at me, "Why are you staring and smiling?" I shook my head, "You got everything you wanted Country Boy. You are doing what you love with your brother and Amy. You seem happy and look amazing. I am really happy for you Jeff." I said softly. Jeff smiled, "Well now I definitely have the dream. You are here now." He said, nudging me with his shoulder.

I blushed and chuckled. Jeff turned to me, "I am really glad you are here darlin." He mumbled, my heart fluttered at that oh so familiar nickname. He pulled me into a warm embrace, his hand tangled in my hair while the other was wrapped around my waist.

We sat there and talked for hours. Catching up on life, what we missed and just anything in general. It felt like old times but I knew this small little happy moment was going to last.
