Hidden Within

Chapter Two

+Athena slept through the night while we stayed awake. Leaning back again a wall Wolf kept watch while I slept. He was still too high strung to sleep. I felt him shift and stretch his legs out, he seemed antsy.

:Need to run?:

:Too much running. We are sore.:

:We are the Elder now. Maybe we are getting old.:

:Never. We are eternal, never weak. Just need help sometimes.:

He turned our head towards the sleeping Lycan.

:There needs to be a storm to clear the haze.:

:Well look at you mister romantic. Wow. I'm stunned.:

:Shut up. She's...different.:

:I agree bud, and we've met quite a few Lycan females in our days. She is different or maybe something is with us different. Maybe it's just because she's the first person we've been I contact with. It's been a while since we've had a proper release...:

:Not like that.:

Wolf punched the ground beneath us shaking our head.

:More than that. Difference I cannot find. We try hard...very hard from now on.:

I watched Athena stir quietly at the sound of us but stayed asleep.

:Yes, we will try hard. She killed for us. So what do we do in the morning?:

:Find new hiding spot, make safe, go from there.:

:We were good at hiding away before, now our lives depend on it.:

Wolf nodded out head and looked over at Athena again.

:She must live.:

:We will make sure of it Wolf. I promise.:

~Athena awoke to the sound of her hotplate clicking on. She lifted her ears and mumbled.

"Wolf?"

"Hunger."

She smiled and rolled over stretching out.

"Ah first mean of the day."

"You hunger?"

"No, not yet."

She pushed herself up and shook her fur free of dirt.

"Do you think it's safe to go?"

"Never safe, but safer now."

He said focused on cooking whatever meat he had caught.

"We move to safe house, you go home."

Athena was hurt slightly.

"Home? I can't help you two from there."

"Give a few days. Let us get safe. Cannot fix if still being caught."

Athena nodded crossing her arms.

"How will I find you if you are going into hiding?"

"We will come find you again and take you there once safe."

Wolf's voice was serious today. Like he had a plan now, a goal.

"So I just wait?"

"You tell your Alpha what we showed you."

Wolf met her eyes then.

"Save brothers and sisters from bad place."

Athena nodded again, her chest tight.
