Hearts Out

The Beginning

[Season:1 Episode:1]

Today is the prom night at school but I have nothing to do with it. I'm single, absolutely single. Also me being me, I hate these "prom" things and all. It's crazy how boys and girls wait for a whole year for this night to mingle up.

I'm one of those people in a trio who is single, you know what I mean? I'll be clear ok - my friend circle consists of three of us, Snigdha, Shalini and me. Where Snigdha and Shalini are 100% committed, I try my best to stay away from such things. My poor heart just cannot tolerate being broken by a random guy so I prefer to take absolutely no risk at all.

Well when I say "no risk at all", it clearly means I had taken the risk once and the consequences weren't up to the mark. I couldn't take that pressure but I'm glad I'm out of that damn phase of life. No risk at all now!

I've never ever been to the school prom as I have no reason to. But this time I had to; why? Because I have these strange stubborn friends of mine who will not listen to me at all.

While I was happily chilling at my house listening to Billie Eilish, these two puppies came out of nowhere and landed right in front of me. "Omg you scared me gosh" I said. "Well I'm sorry I didn't mean to" Snigdha said. While this small talk took place between us, Shalini straightaway went to my wardrobe and pulled out my one piece black dress.

"Wait what's going on?" I enquired. "Oh just wait darlo, you're coming to the prom with us" Shalini said while she unfolded my dress. "Excuse me what? You owe me an explanation here. When did I say I'm going to the prom at school tonight?" "Ssshhhh" Snigdha placed her finger on my lips.

Shalini: Here, wear this right now, we'll handle your makeup and hair.
Me: I just don't get this ok. Whatever it is, I'm not going to the prom. You know how much I hate these stuffs.
Snigdha: We know it, but we want you to be with us tonight. Not as a part of the prom but as our best friend.
Me: Umm, but what am I supposed to do among you and the boys?
Them: (frustrated) We'll figure it out there.

I didn't want to argue with them so I just wore my dress and got ready.

Them: Pretty as hell!
Me: Thank you.

We left for the prom. I wasn't sure about the decision I made cuz I'm allergic to boys. But as my girls said, we shall figure it out ourselves once we reach school.
