"Absolutely not." I say, folding my arms over my chest.

   "It's only an estimate." Angelo replies, lazily.

"You need to get over your paranoia and hire someone now." I lecture. "I'm not staying here for literal months just because your pilot needs to time with his newborn. You're going to get me off this island, with or without Brennan."

   I huff, aggravated.

  As of last night, I wasn't too worried about how long I'd have to stay here. Maybe I put too much confidence in Angelo, but I was hoping I'd only have to wait a few days at most. But, now he tells me his pilot is going to be out of commission for at least four months.

   "I mean you could swim, but that would take longer than waiting for Brennan to come back." Angelo says, cattishly.

"God, you're insufferable." I shout.

"Come on, Sugar. We've done this same shtick before. You were fine with it last time." Angelo offers.

  "Yeah, because you were paying me."

"Is my company not payment enough?"

  I look at him in disdain and that lets him answer his own question. Sighing, I sit back down in the wrought iron chair.

   It's beautiful out here. The small vineyard in the back of the villa is a paradise in itself. But any place can feel like a prison if you don't want to be there.

  "Fine. I'll book a flight myself." I decide.

"No." Angelo says suddenly, sitting up in his seat.

"No?" I question. "Why not?"

   He hesitates for a moment before rambling out an answer. "Valentin could still be after you. And what's to say the Delafonse's aren't as well?"

   I roll my eyes at him. "Valentin took me away without them knowing. He actually wanted to reconcile with you and planned on using me as leverage."

Angelo scoffs at this.

"And if anyone is after me, just hire a bodyguard for me or something. I'll pay you back."
