One

It was a normal morning for Anteiku, it had its normal amount of Ghoul and Human customers. Mayumi was serving the shift with her best friend Touka. Two boys sat talking about girls, Mayumi walked around serving coffee and chatting with the customers. "The remains of a Man's body were found on Takada Building Street on the 28th. Body fluids believed to have come from a ghoul was found at the scene. The Authorities have begun to investigate this as a Ghoul Attack." The tv blared through the shop. "Was that Rize again?" Mayumi mumbled to Touka. "Beats me, I wouldn't be surprised." Touka whispered back to her. "Excuse me?!" A boy with yellow hair shouts at Touka and Mayumi. The two walk over to the boys. "Yes?" Touka asks. "Can you take our order?! I'll have a cappuccino! What about you?!" The yellow hair boy yells at his dark haired friend. "I...I'm fine." He mumbles blushing. Mayumi smiles at the boy making him blush harder. "One cappuccino..." Touka mumbles writing it down. "Uh, Sorry but...can I ask both of your names?" The yellow haired boy asks. "Touka Kirishima and Mayumi Hamasaki." Touka answers as Mayumi waves shyly. The yellow boy stood up and clapped Touka's hands together. "Miss Kirishima!! Miss Hamasaki!! Do you have a boyfriend?!" He yells scaring both of the girls. "U-um..." They mumbled blushing. Mayumi grabbed Touka and ran away from the boys. "N-No..we don't!" Touka yells. "Come back!" The yellow hair boy yells. "That was so head on!" Mayumi whisper shouted to Touka. "Just ignore them, I gotta serve the next table." Touka mumbles as she walks away.'Man Touka, what a way to leave me like that.' Mayumi thought walking behind the bar to make more coffee. Not even a second later, Rize walked in with a smile on her face. 'Is she gonna grab another vicim again?' Mayumi thought brewing the coffees. She watches as the black haired boy started talking to Rize. Mayumi rolled her eyes and continued to serve the coffees to everyone, keeping an eye on Rize.

A couple days later, Touka, Mayumi, and Yoriko were walking back to Touka's house at night. The same black haired boy and Rize walked by talking and smiling. Mayumi and Touka turned to look at the two. "What's up you two?" Yoriko asked. "Nothing." The two said and continued on. After Yoriko left, the two turned on the tv when suddenly, breaking news appeared on the tv. "Accident near construction sight kills a student and leaves another in critical condition. Officials say one student was killed by steel beams while the other was on the brink of death and needs an emergency surgury." The news reporter explained. Mayumi grabbed the remote, turning off the tv. "Whatever let's just get some sleep." Touka mumbled walking into her room. "Goodnight." She mumbled as Mayumi went into her room.

Following those days, Touka and Mayumi encountered the black haired boy again in an ally way. "Look at all that leg showing. C'mere." An old man cooed at Touka as Mayumi watched from above waiting to strike. "Stop, leave me alone." Touka growled as the old man continued to pester her. A boy with a hood on walked by Touka and the man. "What're you looking at?" The man yelled. The boy didn't answer. "Hey! I'm talking to you!" The man ran up and pointed at the boy. "Don't touch me!" The boy growled as his red eye poked out. "What's up with your eye?! Back off! You freak!" The man yelled as Mayumi jumped down on the man and slashed her arm at the man, cutting him in half. "Sicko." Mayumi clicked her tongue. She landed on her feet and picked up the mans hand and took a bite. "Well that gets rid of him." Mayumi spat out a bone. Touka walked over taking the other arm, the boy watched the two in shock. "What? Do you want it?" Touka asked handing out the arm. He didn't say a word. "Don't you want this?" Mayumi repeated. "Aren't you gonna eat? Why's only one of your eyes red? Wait...Why weren't you eaten?!" Touka asked the boy confused. "Huh? I thought Rize...but your eye?" Mayumi asked in confusion as well. The boy screamed and ran away from the two. "What the hell? Asshole." Touka mumbled throwing the arm as Mayumi picked it up and chewed at it.

Later on the two walked to Anteiku as the same boy walked by with his head down. "Sorry sir, but were closed." Touka said as the boy looked up. "You're...please help me...PLEASE!!" The boy begged on his knees. "You two are the only people I can go to...Ever since my body's become like this things have been nothing but awful. Please...I-" The boy was cut off by Touka. "NO! Judging from that eye and what you're saying you used to be human, but now you're a ghoul. Tell me former human, what does cake taste like? It's so nasty it makes us puke so we don't know. But humans seem to enjoy it. Donuts and Tarts too. What was it like living your life without fearing for it? Not having to fear about ghoul investigators or other crazy ghouls? TELL US!! 'Awful?', give us a break. Does that mean things have been awful since the day we were born?! Like hell we'd help you, asshole! You can die for all I care!" Touka yelled as the door swung open. "Touka. Mayumi. I think he's been through enough." Yoshimura said getting the girl's attentions. "Sir." They both answered. "It must've been difficult. Come on in." Yoshimura offered opening the door. "But sir?! Why?!" Touka yelled. "He used to be human?!" Mayumi yelled. "He looks like one of us to me. Ghouls help one another. That is our policy at Anteiku." Yoshimura told the girls as they glared at the boy. They went inside following Yoshimura to the refrigerator. I'll give you one package for the time being. Come by again when you need more. Don't be a stranger." Yoshimura smiled as the boy took the package. "T-Thank you." The boy bowed and ran off. "Why help him sir?" Touka asked as they closed the door. "Yeah, he's a human, he could tell in us." Mayumi asked as well. "Touka. Mayumi. Have you two seen the recent news about the organ transplant case?" Yoshimura asked. "No not really." The two answered. "It all started when steel beams fell on some students. One of the victims, a female student. Died instantly. The other one was a young man on the brink of death. He needed an emergency organ transplant. The doctor chose to transplant the dead girl's organs into the young man. It seems those organs...belonged to Rize." Yoshimura explained. "Rize?! She died?!" The two screamed. "The injury must've been so severe that not even ghouls regenerative abilities could repair the damage. And so Rize's organs were used. So now there's a human with ghoul organs inside them?" Mayumi asked. "Sir..his eye could it be...?" Touka added on. "Yes." Yoshimura answered as Mayumi's eyes widened.
