"Hello? Carah?"

Cherah could hear her own voice echo through the vast caves as she called out for her sister Carah, who originally had gone for a midnight walk alone.

It was the afternoon now, and the sun was shining brighter than ever before. The rays of the sun illuminated the entrance to the cave, but Cherah held the warmly lit torch in her hands just in case.

Usually, her sister would have been from her walk by breakfast. It was almost lunchtime now, and she hadn't come back.

"Carah! It's almost lunch, you need to hurry!"

Silence.

Cherah felt a shiver down her spine.

Where was Carah? Why hadn't she come back yet...?

She tugged at her filthy skirt and sighed loudly. If Carah wouldn't return by dinner she would be scolded harshly by their mother. "Suit yourself," Cherah grumbled as she turned back around towards the cave entry. But before she exited the cave, she took a step back and glanced towards the dark cave.

She took a moment to admire the large, fragile, stalactites that hung from the cave roofs which had small drops of water dripping from their edges silently.

"If you don't come home Carah," She hesitated, not knowing if anyone was really listening. "You'll get a mighty beating from mother!" She called out.

Again, there was silence.

Nothing else but the swooshing noise of the wind replied.

Cherah cursed and walked out of the dark eerie cave and into the light of day.
