Lane & Her Mom (Karen)
If you're wondering what happened between Lane and Karen...
Lane, at a young age, was brought into boxing. Her mother, Karen, thought this was not "right" for girls. Karen and Lane's Dad got a divorce, and Lane didn't see her mother for a good 10 years. This was, until, her 16th birthday.
Karen decided she wanted to have a part in her daughter's life, but Lane disliked her mother for not allowing her to do what she loved. Her mother called her Delaney, a name she hated, tried to earn her way back into Lane's life, but the two had a falling out, where Lane hit her mother. This is where the hitting comes into play.
After "Fight Like a Girl"
Everett
"Hey, Del." I turn around. There's Everett, looking annoying as ever. "I'm gonna call you that now. It's your name, but like, not too girly, I guess."
"Okay."
"I'm proud of you."
"Thanks." He hugs me, and at first I want to pull away, but I hug him back.
Friends.
Boxing
I'm posting the Girls Boxing Team Try Outs sheet up outside the gym. In reality, I know no one will try out.
"Hey, are you Lane Davis?"
"Can we sign up?"
I spin around, and there's two girls, freshmen, looking at me.
I'm confused.
"S-sure."
"We were inspired by your performance at state, so we decided we would try this!" They both write their names on the list.
Coach walks out of the gym.
"Are you kidding me? People are actually trying out?" I smirk at him. He's not done yet.

When I get home that night, I grab a pen.
