By accident ( ON HOLD, IS BEING REVISED )

Darkness

Darkness, pure utter black darkness.

That was the only thing I could see. I could hear things though.

Very muffled and I couldn’t help but wonder what they were screaming.

I tried to remember where I was, but a sharp pain shot through my head...

The only thing I could come up with was a girl’s face, Lauren!

Oh God a truck just hit our bus, I had to wake up and see if Raven and Lauren were alright. 

After a few tries to open my eyes I decided to give up. Maybe I died.

No don’t think like that Alex, you’re alright. Let’s think about this rationally Alex, you can still feel and well I felt quite uncomfortable.

Suddenly light blinded me. I blinked and heard several voices yell out.

‘ Oh God Alex, you’re finally awake. We immediately came over when we saw you lying here and we couldn’t wake you up!’ We? Who was we?

I stayed on the ground while I tried to look around. Me, Lauren and Raven were the only ones still in the bus, which was lying on it’s side.

I took a good look at Raven’s face that held a lot of worry for me.

‘ I’m OK Raven just a bit shaken I guess.’ Raven and Lauren shared a worried glance.

Suddenly I noticed that Lauren had a large cut in her cheek. 

‘ Raven your cheek, it’s bleeding wait let me help you.’

I tried to move up to stop the bleeding but was stopped by Lauren who grabbed my shoulders and looked as shaken as Raven. 

‘Raven you get out of this bus and go get help, I’ll stay with her.’

Everything was getting fuzzy and I was confused. Why won’t they let me move?

So when Lauren looked away from me I tried to sit up.

I shouldn’t have done that, a horrible pain flared through my stomach and spine.

I looked down and saw a huge piece of glass sticking out of the side of my stomach.

I panicked and in result moved which led to more pain and me screaming.

Lauren held onto me and pushed me on the ground so I would stop moving.

‘You have to stay calm Alex otherwise the wound will only get worse.’

I knew that and staying calm wasn’t really a problem anymore on the contrary I had the feeling I could fall asleep any minute.

Suddenly someone slapped me in the face. ‘ You stay awake Alex, talk to me.’ Lauren told me. I gave her a weak smile ‘ Well euh, can I know where you live?’

Lauren gave me a weird look but answered me non the less.

‘Well in Davies street.’ ‘ oh that’s only 1 street away from my house.’

I began to cough and Lauren held me. I noticed blood steadily streaming down my side and my vision began to blacken. 

‘ We should hang out then sometimes. Alex, Alex?? Hey stay awake...’

That was the last thing I heard before I blacked out.

I was happy. I knew that this was the chance I had been waiting for, the chance to get to know her better and maybe later...

I loved her, I knew that now.

I just hoped I hadn’t taken to long to realize that.
