I looked back at Hyeri, confused. She just tried her best to avoid my eyes, which focused on her. She slowly walked to my side and muttered a small sorry before dragging me towards the entrance of the strange house I've never been to.

I pulled back from her grip, demanding an explanation.

'Hyeri, you need to tell me what is going on if not, I'm not coming.' I said firmly, leaving no room for her excuses. She halted and turned back to answer.

'I'm sorry I brought you here by lying, but I promise this will be fun...'

I was just silent. I haven't been to a party before and don't even know how to act, and what is proper and what is not. Hyeri continued.

'You haven't been out a lot, Iseul, and socializing is not your cup of tea. I know. But try to come out of it. Make new friends, don't just stick to me. What if one day I get sick of you and leave?'

I chuckled. 'You wouldn't.'

She smiled at what I said. 'Well, you never know. It might happen.'

'You will leave me?' I asked her, feigning hurt.

'I'm just stating the possibilities, Iseul.'

I remained silent again.
'Come on, it's time you change and break free from your old ways. You don't have to live like this. The world is too big, and life is too short. You finish school this year. Are you going to be oppressed by your mother all your life?' She asked, and I looked at her straight in the eyes.

'I'm coming, but you have to stay with me the whole time.' I said.

She smiled beamingly, 'Of course! Besides, most of them are my friends, and they'll treat you well.'

I was tricked.

My dear friend who promised to stay with me all the time disappeared and, I am, now lost in the sea of drunk people dancing everywhere and making out in the middle of the room. With all the nasty scenes invading my virgin eyes, I felt like my innocence was slipping out of my hand. I was too awkward to strike up conversations with strangers, so that left me with myself cornered to the back of the room and taking a seat on the couch which was thankfully not occupied by anyone.

From the couch, I took my time to observe the details of the well-built house. From what I see, whoever lives here, seems to be very well off and loaded with money. It's not like our household was a shortage of riches, but extravagant details like chandeliers and fancy glasswares always make me awe. Waiters were going around the halls with a clear drink on a tray. Assuming that it was water that my dry throat desperately needed, I halted one of them on their tracks and got hold of a glass.

I was going to down the liquid when a hand paused me by grabbing my wrist.

'It is not water that you are going to drink if you are just thirsty.' a boy in front of me said, prompting towards the glass I was holding in my hand. I lifted my head up to meet eyes with a boy, whose face was full of eye-catching features. Oblivious to what he was implying, I blinked twice giving a clueless expression.

He chuckled and pulled the glass out of my hand. 'I meant this, Miss,' he said pointing, at the glass cup.

'That's not water?' I asked with my eyes wide.

'Nope, it isn't. It's the strongest drink served here,' he laughed, probably at my stupidness. Who would serve water in a pool of drunk people dancing crazily? I facepalmed myself mentally.

'Can I take a seat?' he asked, glancing at the empty spot next to me.

'Sure,' I scoot away a little to put a comfortable gap between us.

'I'm Seungcheol, by the way. Choi Seungcheol,' the boy introduced himself with a smile and outstretched hand towards me to shake.

'Iseul, Lee Iseul.' I introduced back, shaking his hands, reciprocating his smile.
