CHAPTER 10:
Possibilities.
Wanda

To say that I felt out of place was an understatement.

I had found myself drawn to the School for Gifted Children, a place where Mutants are given a proper education and are taught how to control their gifts. I knew that Charles Xavier might have some answers to questions I had.

And that he knew Erik.

"Hello?" I gently knocked on the front door, and went to jiggle the handle. To my surprise, it was unlocked.

Okay. . .?

Wouldn't a place like this need to be more secure?

I questioned and I felt a weird presence as I walked in, like someone was watching me and I peeked my head around the long corridors.

Is no one her-?

I perked up when a bell rang and immediately, children started to poor out from the rooms. All kinds of kids, ranging from children to teenagers, wandered out and I backed myself to the front door as they knew where they were going.

"Miss?" A little girl tugged on my sweater.

"Hello, what's your na-?"

"Professor wants to see you," And she grabbed my hand, leading me up a staircase.

"Proffessor?" I questioned, becoming nervous as I felt the others watching me and staring in confusion.

Almost like they recognized me.

"Professor X," She replied with a sweet smile before pointing to a door at the end of the hall, and walking back down the stairs.

This is strange.

The halls were filled just a second ago.

I noted that as I walked towards the door, my heart pounding knowing that I may get answers to questions I never knew I had before. Before I knew it, my hand was reaching for the handle, but I stopped myself.

Do I really want to know?

I started to step back.

How much will my life change?

"Wanda."

I gasped as I heard a voice in my mind.

"Don't be afraid. There's no judgement here."

"You're safe."

I should be terrified that someone was able to get inside my mind, that there's someone who knows my entire life without me even knowing.

But it also made me feel safe.

Turning the doorknob, I came face-to-face with an old man sitting in a chair with a desk infront of him. He smiled.

"I'm guessing your Professor X?"

"You would be right, my dear," He grinned, and I immediately recognized his voice.

"You were inside my head," I took a seat.

"I'm a telepath. I do apologize though, I had to see if you were a threat to my students. It's just a precaution," He informed me.

"So you know why I'm here then."

His smile faded slightly, "yes."

"Why didn't my father want me?" I know it was an intense question but I felt like he abandoned me.

Abandoned us.

"Oh Wanda, Erik would give his life to know he had children. Your mother left before he even knew. I would have gone inside her mind to find out why but she did a good job of keeping me out. But, from what I have gathered, she ran to Sokovia where her brother was still living, and gave birth to you and your brother there. She knew she wouldn't make it, and your uncle took you in as his own. The reason I couldn't find you was because she used the last of her powers to shield you from my vision," He explained to me, and it felt so heavy. She knew she wouldn't make it. She knew the risks, and still wanted us.

"But, why didn't Erik run after her?"

"He was going through a lot at that time, and Natalya leaving made him feel like he couldn't be loved anymore."

She made him feel like that?

"So my mother was a selfish bitch," I realized, angry for the father I never met.

"Natalya was anything but the sort. She must have had her reasons, I know it. I just wish she trusted me enough to let me in one last time, then maybe. . ." He seemed to be getting emotional, "maybe I could have saved your brother."

"I don't want to think about what if. Pietro is gone," The more I reminisced on what I could've done, the more I fell and I didn't want to keep falling further and further.

"I understand."

"Where's Erik Lensherr?"

"Erik was hard to find. He never let me inside his head for as long as I can remember, but recently, he's taken off his helmet," From what I can imagine, the helmet he wore was probably keeping Proffessor X from getting inside his mind. A real mental block.

"Turns out that he had been searching for Natalya, as he refused to believe that she was dead. He traced her back to Sokovia, and found birth records that showed your true DNA."

"But where is he?" I asked.

"He should be here right about. . .now."
