CHAPTER 2:
Lost.
Dick
"Previously a Sokovian citizen, a volunteer of the Von Strucker experimentation linked to HYDRA, Wanda Maximoff was made an American citizen after the Battle of Sokovia. Now she has run away from the Avengers and the U.N., stating she is not their property and refuses to be watched. Dave, what do you think?"
"Turn that off," I groaned.
"What's wrong, Grayson?"
"It's nothing. I just think this is all bullshit about terrorism when it's actually the government being a pissy baby that they can't weaponize her," Powerful or not, she's a citizen now and therefore a person of her own interest. Personally, I don't think the Avengers should be monitored.
It's hell.
"I don't know. They do great stuff, better than those vigilantes here."
Here we go.
I got tired of us being compared to the Avengers. I know what being monitored feels like, like being grounded by a parent for doing what's right or feeling like if you did the smallest thing then you'd be scolded for it.
"That's my cue. I'm heading out," I groaned as I got up from my chair. It was five minutes past my shift and I didn't want to stay longer than I had to.
Stop, Grayson.
It can't be her.
Out of all those people, why would it be her?
I never payed much attention to what the Avengers did, or atleast tried to after an outburst I had about how they got more respect and recognition than we did. It was only until the Battle of Sokovia did Wanda Maximoff catch my eye. At first it was her powers and the anger and sadness on her face when it was revealed to the public that her brother was killed, and she survived by eradicating all the robots at once. I knew that kind of feeling, just trying to make sense of why it had to be them and drifting in and out of reality.
But I can't imagine the pain of losing a twin, someone you're connected with from the beginning.
I got lost in my thoughts and my own anger against Bruce, and made my way towards my favorite bar.
I didn't even notice the girl on the stool beside me until she spoke.
"Coke and rum, please," She had an American accent, that to anyone would make her sound normal, but it had an underlying tone where her true accent would slip through.
"Wanda Maximoff."
I don't know why I thought it was smart to bring up her name, to whisper it just enough for her to hear. She could kill me - she could kill everyone in here.
"Dick Grayson."
That's when I looked at her.
"Did you think I'd forget the boy from the Circus?"

Hope you've enjoyed! Do you think Dick will ask Wanda for help when he finally meets Raven?
