Yellowknife stands over the bench, contemplating what do you do next. *This is going to be incredibly awkward.* He thinks with a sigh.

After standing there for another moment, he makes up his mind and gently shakes her shoulder. "Uhhh, excuse me..." He says nervously. The girl sits up and stretches. She has long white hair done up in pig tales, a blue and white tank top covered by a pink coat adorned with with fluff and bunnies, and sleepy cherry red eyes. She yawns and rubs her eyes before speaking. "Hello." She says in a slow, tired voice. Yellowknife swallows, afraid that he ruined her nap and pissed her off. "Hi, uhh how are you?" He says with a nervous smile. The girl stretches before looking at him agian. "Are you that Canadian battleship?" She asks, suppressing another yawn. Yellowknife is stunned by how fast she recognized him, after all he was only in front of that crowd for about fifty seconds. "Yeah that's me, how did you recognize me so quickly?" He asks out of curiosity. The girl glances at the ground then back. "It's easy, your a boy and really stand out." She explains, a tired but ever present smile on her face. "My name is Yellowknife, I'm afraid I didn't catch your name." Yellowknife says, outstretching his hand to her. The girl shakes his hand and giggles, she has small hands that fit her child like appearance. "Hehe, your hands are warm. I'm Laffey, it's good to make a new friend." She says with a proud smile. As Laffey stands up, her stomach growls loudly. "Oh? My tummy wants food, can we go to get something to munch on?" She asks tugging on Yellowknife's sleeve. "I haven't eaten anything since breakfast, so that's fine with me." Yellowknife says looking down at Laffey. He is nearly two feet taller than her being at six foot six inches tall, while she is around to four foot five inches. "So where do you want to go?" Laffey asks with a twinge of impatience in her voice. "Well, I don't know my way around here yet so it's up to you I guess." Yellowknife says, shrugging his shoulders. Laffey seems to contemplate several options in her hed before deciding. "I know just the place, come with me Yellowknife." She says, somehow still sounding tired. With Laffey leading, the pair head into town.

~~~~~~A Few Minutes Later~~~~~~
After walking through the faintly lit streets for a few minutes, Laffey leads Yellowknife towards a small restaurant. Despite how it looks from the outside, it feels spacious inside, it is warmly lit with a wonderful aroma escaping the kitchen doors. Yellowknife and Laffey walk up to the front counter and see someone fiddling with the cash register. Hearing them enter, she looks up. "Hello hello, what can I do for yo-, wait a minute, who are you?" She says closing the register on her finger. "Oww!" She yelped quickly putting her finger in her mouth. Before Yellowknife can say anything, Laffey speaks up. "Hi Oklahoma, are you still open?" She asks standing on her toes to been seen better. Oklahoma glances at a clock on the far wall. "Well, we were just gettin' ready to close up shop and call it a night, but I'm sure my sister can cook up something for you." She says with an assuring smile. "Oklahoma, meet Yellowknife, he's the new ship, and he's a boy." Laffey says, showing Yellowknife off like a new car. Oklahoma brings her hand up to her chin. "So I've heard, I can't believe that there's a shipboy, everyone always thought it ain't possible but her you are. One of a kind I guess." She says, looking Yellowknife up and down from across the counter. "Well, I'll quit yamnerin' so y'all can get seated. I'll make sure Nevada hasn't packed up yet and then I'll take your order." Oklahoma says, walking into the kitchen.
*Geez, why does everyone have to make such a fuss over my gender? I feel less like a person and more like a strange novelty.* Yellowknife thinks in frustration. Turning towards where Laffey was he sees nothing, that is until he hears her voice calling him. "Yellowknife, are you coming? I have a spot." She calls from the other side of the room. Turning around, he walks over to her. Laffey picked a seat in the corner of the little restraunt next to a window. "Sit there." Laffey bluntly requests, pointing at the seat across from her. "ok, ok, please be a little patient." Yellowknife grumbles at Laffey's impatience, after all they haven't even ordered yet. Sitting down, he passes Laffey a menu and begins looking at his own. Unsure on how much money Laffey was planning on spending, Yellowknife begins browsing the cheaper food options. Yellowknife has just about decided on what to eat, when out of the corner of his eye he notices Laffey sneaking glances at him. Without thinking, he locks eyes with her, leaving them in an awkward
stare down. "Hehe, sorry I'm just not used to seeing shipboys." Laffey giggles, breaking the silence. *Ugggh, not this again.* Yellowknife thinks staring at her blankly. Laffey stops him from zoning out by setting her menu on the table. "Have you decided on what to eat?" Laffey asks, once again sounding childishly impatient Yellowknife snaps back to reality. "Y-yeah, I'll try some of this soup." He says putting his menu down in such a way so Laffey can see what he was pointing at. "I'm gonna have this!" She exclaims proudly, while showing Yellowknife the menu. *that is a huge sandwich! How can she eat all that!?* Yellowknife thinks in disbelief.
