Woah, I cant believe I'm finally here. I stood staring at the large doors of the building ahead of me. I had been waiting for months trying to get here, The journey was difficult and tiring and not to mention it took all of our money.

"Well, Are you ready Clay?" I giggled looking over at my friend, Grabbing his hand not awaiting an answer.

We swung the doors open and entered the building, Almost hundreds of people turned to glance at us. We didn't mind though, Me and him let out a large smile, People turning back to what they were doing. I looked at my friend who was reading a sign placed in front of us.

"Game competitors this way." Clay read aloud and glancing at a small room, Reverting his eyes back to me. I was filled with energy, almost sweating. "I'm excited Clay." I finally let out staring at him, As we walked down the hallway towards the room.

"Chill, Its only a once in a lifetime opportunity." Clay snickered, Causing me to tense up.

"Dude shut up." I exaggerated the ( p ), Landing a smack to the back of his head. "Sorry sorry-" He said laughing more, I opened the door letting him be the first one inside.

Inside the room we saw around a dozen people standing around, A few were talking with the others and some were on their cellphones. Only some people took there attention away from what they were doing to glance at us, But they all quickly looked away and continued what they were doing.

"Woah, There isn't that many people here." Clay whispered over to me, Having a confused expression stapled to his face.

"Well that means less competition stupid-" I giggled.

...

"I guess so." he shrugged.

My eyes turned to a male in the corner on his cellphone, Not paying attention to anything. He looked as if he was speaking to someone, he looked upset.

Why is he sad.

I tried to shrug it off and look at Clay but he was already talking to someone, I made a wonky face and decided to socialize with some of the people before the game started.

I looked back at the male in the corner and he seemed to not be speaking to anyone anymore, I decided to go over and speak to him with the remaining time.

"Hello-" I spoke as I stepped closer to the male, He jerked his head up kind of startled. Dropping his phone on the floor and letting a little "huh?".

"So sorry-" I said Bending down to pick up his cellphone, Handing it to him while locking eyes for a comfortable few seconds.

"I- uh thank you." He struggled to get out of his mouth, I accidentally let out a giggle.

"Its on me, No need to worry."

The smaller male looked at me and  then glanced away and at another group of people.

"Anyways, How are you?" I asked, Rubbing the back of my head.

He placed his attention back on me and struggled to get his answer out, I stopped him and just grabbed his hand to shake it. "My apologies, If I made you uncomfortable." He looked at my hand and shook it slowly, Smiling a genuine smile.

"No worries, I just get awkward when I meet new people!" The smaller male finally let out, Finally understanding. "Oh, Alright." I laugh, Letting his hand go.

"I'm Karl by the way-" He spoke, Rubbing his arm.

"Nick."

...

We both ended talking for what seemed like an hour, But turned out to only be 10 minutes. I could feel Clay looking at me and smiling, Clay always wants me to make new friends. He doesn't always have enough time to hang out with me, Since his sister and his mom keep him inside most days.

A mans voice took over the room, It sounded like a old man that smoked to many cigarettes.

Everyone turned there attention towards the stage and listened to the man speak for what seemed to be an eternity, But in reality it was only 40 seconds. His voice made me really upset and gave me a bad feeling.

After his speech was done he handed everyone a contract to sign before entering the game, I looked at the paper and my wonky face came back.

"We are not responsible for near death or death experiences that may happen."

I shrugged and signed the paper, Looking over at Clay who did the same. We already knew all that when we looked it up months earlier. Karl glanced at my paper and he looked concerned, Holding his paper awkwardly.

"What's wrong?" I look over at him, Turning my body toward him.

"I'm just afraid is all." He spoke softly, Staring at his paper and biting his nails.

...

"It will be alright Karl, Don't worry-" I reassured him while Putting my arm over his shoulder, Causing a smile to form on his face. He nodded and signed his name down on the paper.

"Also, Nice nails." I smiled and looked down at his nails that were painted a beautiful pink and purple. his face turned a cute shade of red and he looked at his nails.

"Thanks, I did them myself." He said proudly yet sad at the same time. "Its the first time I got to do it in a long time, Since my family gets upset when I do it." He laughed, But it was weak.

I smiled weakly, Looking at him and putting my hand on his head. "I'm sorry to hear that."  Trying to comfort him with words. Pulling him into a weak hug and looking over to Clay, Who was surprised yet smiling. The hug was broken by the sound of the man calling everyone to the front of the stage to get ready to enter.

"Friends?" Karl asked while walking over with me.

"Of course."

_________

"Nick?" Nick was Broke from his train of thoughts and memories by the sound of Karl's voice, Who had probably been trying to talk to him for awhile now.

"Sorry, I was just remembering some stuff."

Karl laughed and nodded, he whispered something to Nick that caused him to look at Clay and George.

Clay was still carrying George but was falling asleep as well, Karl suggested we all stop and rest for an hour or so. We all decided it was a good idea, You know other then George. They all settled down for the night.
