"Good morning, sunshine. I didn't want to wake you, but I figured you would be too happy if I let you sleep 'til noon." Edaline explained as Sophie's eyes fluttered open.

She yawned. "Oh thanks, what time is it?"

"It's 11:30AM." She smiled guiltily.

"That's basically already noon!" Sophie pointed out.

"Oops! You needed your beauty rest, I'm so sorry about what happen about Keefe."

She looked away. What a way to start the day. Reminded of one her best friends that ran away with no warning, no anything but a letter.

"Sorry, I shouldn't have—"

"No, no it's fine." Sophie assured her.

Edaline cleared her throat in the silence. "Oh, uh Elwin said to go over to his place after you get ready. He wanted to talk to you about something." Sophie wasn't in the mood for another long talk, but she nodded reluctantly. "No one's hurt, by the way." Edaline added when she the noticed Sophies hesitance in her nod. After a few long seconds she got up and told Sophie, "Whenever you're ready, you can leave with Sandor. I love you."

"Love you too, mom."

...

Keefe was right about Splendor Plains. It was so much like Elwin, yet it reflected none of his personality. Sophie didn't quite understand how that was Possible.

"Welcome, Miss Foster. You look just as surprised as Keefe did when he saw my room." His smile faded in the last sentence.

"Yeah I know what happened." She said.

"You do?" Elwin asked.

"Yeah, he left me a note. He said he's not coming back." She was so quiet she wasn't sure if anyone could hear her.

"He is so going down when he comes back." Ro declared, grounded her teeth.

"I said—"

"I know, but weather he likes or not we are dragging him back."

"Oh. Aren't you supposed to be at Shores or Solace, though?" Sophie asked, changing the subject.

"Blondie, it hasn't even been a day since Hunkyhair ditched us. After he left, me and Elwin discussed about him and the situation, then he checked me for anything harmful he could've left when he used his ability on me. And I don't have to be with Lord Grumpypants, he's not my charge. Plus, it's way better here."

"He used his ability on you?" She clarified, ignoring the sass in Ro's tone.
