Chapter 2 - Lover Boy
Draco had just finished his tea and was about to leave for Muggle Studies when a flash of red robes and emerald eyes taking a seat in front of him caught his attention.
"Ready for class Malfoy."
"Most definitely not. No offense, but ghosts should really not be teaching classes. Nearly Headless Nick is a ghastly sight to look at, apart from having to hear him drone on for hours about Muggles. No offense. "
"None taken. I'm just taking the class for an easy grade. " Spoke Potter as he stood up, grabbing his bag. Malfoy took to his feet as well, wiping off the sugar that spilled from his tea off his robes.
He followed behind Potter as they made their way through the halls, together. It was an odd friendship. No one obviously saw it coming, but after the war, Draco made it his mission to apologize.
After that, he and Potter clicked. They had very much in common and often fed off each other's energy, which quickly irritated the professors in the classes they shared.
Ron was training and studying dragons with his brother Charlie, so there was no need to worry about attempting a parle at their family feud.
Draco had made his way to amending to everyone, well, almost everyone. Not the one person to who he should have apologized first.
She avoided him like a fire. Rushing down another hallway at the sight of him. Quickly turning her head when he caught her eye in the Great Hall or in class. She was untouchable in a sense.
He was content to be in the good graces of at least two-thirds of the Golden Trio, but something about Granger's refusal to accept his atonement advances made him squirm.
"Quit brooding Malfoy. It's not a good look. "
"Bugger off Potter"
"No really, it's almost as bad to look at as watching Nearly Headless Nick bend over to pick something up off the floor."
"He can't pick anything up."
"Exactly. His head nearly falls off every time and you can see all his insides as he struggles to reach whatever it is, he's trying to pick up. It's excruciating to watch and often sad, much like the face you have constantly plastered on. " Replied Potter.
"You should try out for the play because that was a very detailed and dramatic statement. I think I even saw a hint of pain in your eyes as well." Joked Malfoy as they rounded the corner, just a few meters from the classroom door.
"Don't get me started on that play. Hermione drags my arse down every year to be in one. It's bloody terrifying when she is in charge. She is a different person. Malfoy, it frightens me." Said Potter as he clutched his hand to his chest, adding a look of subtle terror.
"Do calm down princess. It can't be that bad....besides " Draco took a quick look around before continuing. "I hear a certain Slytherin, with a level of sarcasm to match yours, will be joining in hopes of spending some time with a certain four-eyed Gryffindor."
"Tracey Davis? Since when did you take me to like blondes? "
"You amaze me with your stupidity every day. You're definitely no Ravenclaw. But how the hell did you manage to save the wizarding world? "Really, you think I'm referring to Davis?"
Draco shook his head disapprovingly as he pushed open the door.
"Wait, who are you talking abou—"
