Chapter 4: The Mortal's Town

"FINALLY WE MADE IT TO THE BOTTOM OF THE MOUNTAIN" Everly thinks to herself while falling on four legs on the ground and gasping to catch her breath. Rox "Eve! You finally made it! Common hurry we got lots to see" Everly basically collapses and muffles through the ground "I'll be right their".

Due to Everly having snow gear that did not fit her she struggled the whole way down the mountain and that caused her to fall, roll, and at one point she crashed into a tree. Yeah... it wasn't pretty. Midway down the mountain Everly was starting to get the hang of it and was starting to trip less. Up until that point Roxy suggested a snowboarding race ( Everly had no idea where the snowboards came from). Roxy installed Everly on the snowboard and herself in .5 seconds Everly was dumbfounded how everything was happening so quickly and she had no say in the matter. Ok Eve let's see who reaches the bottom of the mountain first (Roxy had the biggest in her face) Ready! Go! Roxy bloated down the mountain and Everly slowly sled down struggling to keep her balance. Sadly gravity wasn't on her side and it made her go down faster making velocity pick her up to the point she was going really fast out to the point she couldn't control the board. She headed towards a rock that looked like a ramp. By going through it she flew to the sky and hit a tree and got stuck. The board broke and she fell on the snow and snow fell on her. Roxy passed her without noticing she flew, she got stuck and fell.

On their way to the Marketplace Everly was not having it. Her hair was a complete mess, her clothes don't fit her and worst of all don't match. Sigh. "What did you want me to see, Roxy?". Everly looks up GASP IT'S A FASHION FAIR!! AHHHH!! Look at these dresses, such a pretty dress! OH MY IS THAT THE LATEST SEWING MACHIne. Roxy " Uh Eve. Eve! EVE! And I lost her" Well at least she looks like she's fun and now I know she loves fashion and it's best if I don't show her my mess of a fashion sense.

Oh my this blouse is so pretty and these jeans. Gasp THose are the CUTEST shoes EVER! Excuse me Miss, are you looking for something in particular. Oh! Um. A scream is shouted in the store " I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO WEAR! WHAT CAN I DO. OH! We are going to be so late to the ceremony whimpers. A small calming voice appears "um ma'am is there something wrong I may not work here but I am very confident in my fashion sense so I am more than happy to help" Everly gives a gentle reassuring smile with the warmth of a ray of sunlight. Oh uh yes. I had to attend a wedding ceremony but my dress was ruined and I don't know what to wear. "A wedding ceremony huh? Let's see oh! How about this! The dress Everly found was an elegant black dress with a skirt that was knee length and an over layer that reached the ankles that had elegant orange tones with a beautiful design. Oh my sniffs ITS GORGEOUS Thank you so much you are amazing! Everly very flattered, oh! It's no problem at all. Thank you. Thank you so much!

It was no problem at all. She looked like she was struggling. I just had to help her. "Um excuse me Miss." Uh! Yes. "My manager noticed how well you helped out with that customer. If there is so much trouble we were wondering if you could help us out today. Please. Sadly today barely anyone was available and we were swamped." Everly noticed how there were only two employees working with over 30 customers she honestly couldn't say no. Well I would love to help but could I get an outfit change as you can see these clothes don't particularly fit me. "Oh yes of course and it can be free of charge with the help you give us." Thank you so much. 

Everly changed into a floral blouse with a V- shape that had a bow on the middle waist length black jeans and accessorized with a beautiful golden necklace and black wedges to complete it. Lets not forget her hair she fixed it by taking off her braids and tying the top half as a bun and making it look like a half ponytail with semi-curly burgundy hair. She spent the rest of her day helping out at the very fashionable clothing store helping customers get the best outfits and she enjoyed every second of it.

When she was restocking the racks she started to overhear a conversation from a few people. Did you hear that the village next door got flooded and nobody can live there. Not even animals can survive. Yeah and I heard it's starting to spread. Hopefully it doesn't reach us. I wonder what is causing it? Everly heard these rumors throughout the whole day and it started to peak her interest. Hmm I wonder what is going on? After this maybe I should go ask Roxy about this...Oh yeah I lost her.

Speaking of Roxy, we last saw her before Everly was lost to her true passion for the fashion world. She is very well known in the town. Everyone greets her warmly and thanks her for all the help she has done. Roxy dear, how are you? Is that Roxy? Hey laddie thanks for your help from last time. Look, it's Roxy! Hi Roxy! She greets everyone, tells them it was no problem, plays with the children for a bit. It was her momentary bliss she was able to have.

Snicker. Talk about pathetic. This comment was whispered nobody could hear it except for Roxy and she was frozen. It was as if she was stabbed so quickly she couldn't reflect with the sharpest and coldest knife that has ever existed. Luckily, the face she showed outside was unfazed. She said goodbye to the children "Don't get into trouble, okay kids" and petted their heads "Okay! Bye Roxy!" and the kids ran off. 

She walked into an alleyway that no one knew was there and disappeared as soon as she went in. Walking into a long path she ended up in front of a fountain in the middle of a crossover of 4 other alleys she turned back and the path she came from had disappeared and so did the other pathways. "Stupid illusions. Enough games come on out for you two" An echoing playful voice "aww no fair. You're no fun Roxy!" Two people appear, a young girl and a boy the same age as her. The girl with cocoa skin and white hair wore a black cloak. The boy with brown hair, eyes and olive skin was also wearing a black cloak. "Tala...Nick" with a cold emphasis "What do you two want from me? And Nick what were you doing lurking in my mountain." Tala "Oh nothing we just miss that's all boss told us-" Nick covers Tala's mouth. Roxy gets suspicious. Nick with a monotone answer "I was only looking around that's all and got lost in the forest". Roxy not believing a single word "Lost oh really. I don't believe you for a second supposed shadow lurker expert." Tala laughs. Nick turns in anger. "Oh and I know for sure you don't miss me one bit Tala I am more than sure that you are happy you are getting all of Dist's attention to yourself." Tala infuriated "YOU!" Nick holds her back. "Now I am going to say this again and I better get a clear answer. What do you want?" Nick "Master wants you to come back to society and she wants you to bring the nature girl with you."

Roxy laughs ha! HE WANTS ME TO COMEBACK! Is this a joke? I thought I made it clear that I will never come back. He thought he could control me ha! Oh how wrong he is!...Tell that pathetic master of yours that I am NEVER going back and if he wants the nature girl tell him he has to get through first! OH and that a nice Ice cold is waiting for him. Roxy prepares a powerful snow attack and the two 15 year olds leave without a trace and the illusion is lifted back to the alleyway she had barely entered. Sigh what a nuisance.
