SANTANA'S POVQuinn and I had been spending time together for a month. We mostly meet at the Donelson Cafe for lunch twice a week. I didn't tell her about Puck, who is still not back home... We're just getting to know each other. I know that she broke up not long ago with her childhood friend. Finn, I think. They were dating in high school, they broke up and then they got back together, but it only lasted a few months. I know it sounds weird to be so close in a month but she and I get along so well. There are obviously things I don't know about her that she doesn't know about me, but as I say, I trust her and I really want to be friends. My son doesn't know that I am friends with his counselor. He and I are still on the outs and it hurts me. Quinn says it's his teenage crisis and I trust her. After all, she's the one who knows her stuff. I also told her about the slap I gave him and that I feel so bad for doing that. She always cheers me up.
Q: Hello Santana! How are you?
I was putting away my groceries that I had just bought when I received a message from Quinn.
S: Hey Quinn. I'm fine, how are you?
Q: Well I will say. I'm almost done with the job...😩
Q: Would you like to go to dinner tonight? How about a Japanese restaurant?
Perfect opportunity. I mean, it's not like I have anything to do. It's Friday and I guess Marcos is going to sleep over at his friend Sam's tonight.
S: Of course. That would be nice.
Q: Great! I'll pick you up at 7?
S: Okay. I'll send you my address, see you tonight.
I have two hours ahead of me. Marcos is still not back, I understand that he wants to be free but not giving me any news of the day is a lot, isn't it?
I sent her my address so she could pick me up, put away the rest of the groceries, cleaned up a bit and went to my room to get ready.
"What to wear..?" I said to myself while looking at my wardrobe.
After about 30 minutes, I was ready. I finally opted for a little blue dress with red flowers. Quinn is supposed to arrive in about twenty minutes. I went into the kitchen and poured myself a glass of water when Marcos walked in.
"Are you going to cheat on dad?" He said, bag on his back, opening the fridge and taking a glass of juice.
"You think it's funny? And then you could have sent me a message to tell me you were coming home at this time."
"If you're not cheating on dad then why are you going out all the time at lunch these days? Did you finally sign up for Alcoholics Anonymous?"
"Stop Marcos." Since spending time with Quinn, I've been drinking a lot less. "Do you want some money to order yourself something tonight? I'm going out to dinner with a friend-"
"A friend? Are you laughing at me?" He said, laughing with annoyance. "Who is this guy? You don't have any friends, you never wanted any and now you're going out to dinner with a "friend" ?"
"Marcos-" I began but it cut me at once.
"I sleep at Sam's. You can be quiet with your lover this weekend." He said as he headed to his room.
A few minutes later, someone rang the doorbell. I prayed that it was Quinn and that she would get me out of here.
"Good evening Mrs. Puckerman. I'm here to pick up Marcos." Said Sam. He got his driver's license not long ago, unlike Marcos who doesn't want to get it now.
"Sure, come in." I said as I let him in.
At the same time, Marcos went downstairs with his bag while the doorbell rang again and I opened the door.
"Hey Santana." Great... I already didn't want my son to know I was friends with his counselor, Sam will know too. I smiled at her and turned to my son who looked at her confused. "Hello Marcos and Sam."
"Hello Mrs. Fabray." Said Sam politely.
Marcos whispered a hello and passed in front of her, followed closely by Sam. "Goodbye Mrs. Fabray and Mrs. Puckerman."Quinn and I said goodbye and they left.
My child has changed so much...
"Shall we go?" asked the blonde.
"Yes, of course." I said lost in thought. I took my bag, took my jacket, because it is not very hot outside in this month of January and locked the house and went to her car.
"You okay?" She said as she looked at me from the driver's seat. "I saw that it was tense between Marcos and you..."
"It's always like that, don't worry." I smiled falsely.
"Ok..." She started the car and we headed for the restaurant. "I listened to you, I bought a car. Do you like it?"
"Yes, she is very cute." She has had her license for a long time, but a few days after she got it, she was in a car accident with her father. Since then, she drives as little as possible. In the many times we met, I told her that she should fight this fear of having a car because it is very useful. She finally opted for a small red Ford Fiesta.
A few minutes later, we arrived at the all-you-can-eat restaurant. We went inside and sat down at a table. I didn't even notice Quinn's outfit. She wears a white blouse with a black skirt and black tights. She has the hair loose smooth with a small simple make-up. She is really a beautiful woman. She never told me, but I'm sure all the boys are at her feet, let alone the boys at school. And probably some girls too...
"What are you thinking about?" She asked, bringing me out of my thoughts.
"Nothing important." I smiled. "Let's eat!"
We got up and went to prepare our plate. Once back at our table, we smiled at each other and started to eat."Bon appétit." The blonde says to me while eating her sushi.
"Oh my god don't speak French to me, I don't understand anything. Can you speak?" I said with a laugh.
"Oui. Un petit peu." She laughed. "I studied French when I was in high school."
"I would love to go to Paris one day. Visiting the Effeil Tower, tasting real wine and especially their baguette."
"Paris is my favorite city! I went there twice when I was a child with my parents. I will go back one day. You can come with me if you want, I will gladly invite you." Why does this make me blush? I would love it too. But I can't leave Marcos here alone, and then what if Puck comes home? He won't know I'm gone.
With her, I manage to forget all my problems whether it is with Marcos, alcohol, Puck... I really enjoy being with her and I have become very attached to her. She's my only friend so...
