SANTANA'S POVThe game had just ended and my son's team had narrowly won with 79 points to 74 points. He and Sam gave each other a big hug. He looked at me with a small smile and a huge grin formed on my face. He blushed and went to shake hands with his opponents. A few minutes later, they all returned to the locker room and all the spectators went outside.
"Santana! How nice to see you again!" A blonde woman came towards me accompanied by her husband. "How are you?"
"Mary! Dwight! How are you doing?" I replied.
"Everything is going great. Marcos played very well on the field, your son has a good future ahead of him, I'm sure." Said Dwight.
"He and Sam make a very good team."
"Our children will wreak havoc later on. If they're not already doing it." Said Dwight, which made Mary and me laugh.
I talked with them for another 20 minutes or so when the local team arrived. The opposing team had already left a while ago so outside we were just the parents and friends of the kids. They came out of the gym and everyone cheered again. Sam and Marcos came over to us and Dwight hugged his son while Marcos stood there with an embarrassed smile.
"It was amazing boys!" Mary exclaims. "Keep it up, you have a fantastic future ahead of you."
"Mom, you sound like a teacher how you talk." Said Sam, which made us laugh. "I swear!"
"We're going to leave, we need to pick up your little brother and sister from your aunt, Sam. See you Santana, it was great to see you again!" We said goodbye and Sam and Marcos gave each other a friendly hug.
I wanted to ask my son if he was coming home with my but he spoke first.
"Shall we go home?" He asked, I nodded and went home.
_
"What do you want to eat?" I asked as I walked back inside the house.
"I don't know. Do what you want, I'm going to take a shower, they were full at the gym." He replied as he walked up the stairs.
I then took out two pieces of meat that I cooked with a little bean.
When dinner was ready, I put two plates at the table and called my son to come eat. He went downstairs, grabbed a plate and headed for the stairs. It was too good to be true... He had made efforts but they were not eternal. I put my plate on the coffee table, turned on the TV and went to get a bottle of wine. I sat down on the couch and filled my glass.
"It's been a while..." I sighed.
I had just finished my meal and was on my fifth drink when I received a message from Quinn and saw that it was already almost 8pm. My head is spinning.
Q: Hey San, I hope you had a good day, as for me, I just got home 😩 I'll eat some food and call you in an hour, is that okay?
S: U calledd me San 🥰
S: Calll me anytim ❤️
Quinn called me San. In high school, some of my friends called me that, but I love it when she calls me that.
_
The ringing of my phone woke me up. I yawned and picked up without even looking at who was calling.
"Hello?" I said, yawning again. I had fallen asleep on the couch without even realizing it.
"Hey Santana, did I wake you up?" I recognized Quinn's voice. She looked worried.
"Oh Quinn... I missed your voice." I'm sure she's actually blushing. "I've been looking forward to your call since this morning..."
"Me too but um... Are you okay, Santana?" I nodded. "I called you at least three times but you didn't answer. Maybe you were busy with your husband... I'm sorry." Oh, but there's no point in nodding if she's not there.
"Nope. He's gone again. And guess where?" She murmured a little where. "In Italy! And of course, I don't know for how long." A silence settled between us, so I decided to pour myself a glass of wine. I don't even know what time it is. I took a sip and winced a little. I don't know how long I've been asleep but my breath smells terrible. Quinn decided to cut the heavy silence.
"Um... You-You're doing what then?"
"Nada, querida. Sólo estoy bebiendo pensando en ti..." (*Nothing, my dear. I'm just drinking thinking of you...*) I sighed.
"What-" She laughed nervously but I interrupted her instantly.
"I want to see you Quinn. Like, right now." I closed my eyes and continued. "Not just now, like, all the time." I'm sure I have strong feelings for this woman. I am sure of how I feel now. Those things she said to me last time, I feel them too. And shit, it hurts that I can't do it without consequences.
"..."
"Can we meet...?" Silence. "Please?"
"San... I want it but..."
"I'll be quiet. I won't kiss you." Shit. Of course I want to do it. "If you tell me not to."
"I'm sending you my address." I opened my eyes wide and a huge smile took place on my face. "See you soon San."
"See you soon, Q!" I got up from the couch and went to take a quick shower without even bothering to throw away the bottle of wine.
I'm going to see Quinn again.
