Elide awoke to a heated feeling in her core.

Her eyes flew open and it took her a moment to register her husbands head between her legs. He didn't even look up at her, or acknowledge that she was awake as he feasted hungrily on her.

Her hands latched onto his hair as his tongue dove into her again and again and again. Her breath was coming in short pants as her release barrelled through her.

She groaned as he pulled away, but it was stifled when his lips met hers. She reached down and shivered to her delight when she found he was already bared to her. She caressed him as his tongue caressed her mouth.

His hands roamed over her body, his lips and tongue now grazing and sucking on her neck. She leaned into him, needing to close that remaining space between them but moaned when his finger pounded into her. He moved down her body, his mouth placing light kisses on her neck, chest. Her stomach seized as he licked from her naval to where her thigh met her hip.

All too soon his lips were back on hers, more desperate than before. It grew hungrier and faster as the tension in the room grew with it.

She felt him tease her opening and her core turned molten.

"Lorcan, please-" She began, but gasped as he slipped into her. His eyes locked on hers as he eased back and forth, letting her adjust to his length.

When he reached the hilt she raised her hips, eager to have him pounding into her. His eyes dilated as he watched the affect his touch had on her.

Their lips crashed against each other as he crushed her against the bed, moving harder and faster inside her, making her breathless.

His grunts of pleasure only added to what she was feeling as he crushed her walls, hitting that spot over and over again. She threw her head and arched her back as she felt her release advancing on her. His mouth closed over her breast as his large hands gripped her waist, pulling him closer to her, making her silently scream.

Her nails grazed his back, the skin rising over those toned muscles. She was sweating and he was only reaching his peak now.

After minutes of violently thrusting he finally spilled into her, their laboured breathing filled the silence now taking over the room.

He lay beside her, pulling her against him so they were chest-to-chest.

His hands roamed over her back as they marveled at each other.

"Nice breakfast?" She asked him teasingly. That heat returned as he grinned down at her.

He leaned down and set his lips against her ear. "Delicious," He purred. A shiver went through her, only making his grin grow wider.

After a while of just lying in each others arms, Lorcan looked down at her again.

"There's a letter from Yrene on your desk."

Her eyes flew open and he searched her face to try understand what she was feeling. "Did you read it?" She couldn't tell if it was relief or disappointment that rolled over her when he shook his head.

She was struggling more with her foot now. Working harder, meetings practically every day. It was getting harder to manage, especially with the work load. Places to go, people to see, husbands to-

"Do you want me to read it?" Concern now openly shown on his marvelous Fae features.

"I don't know. I want to read it, but that also makes it real." She needed her foot healed, she might go crazy.

She didn't want to let that part of her life go so easily, but she also thought it was time to leave those dark memories behind. Her new life was beginning. Pain was not welcome.

He pulled out of her grip as he rolled majestically off the bed, padded into the adjoining office and came back a moment later with an envelope in his hand. She could see the seal was unbroken as he rejoined her in their bed.

She just stared at the envelope in his hand, unable to move to read it.

He gave her a minute before taking the liberty of opening it himself. He shushed her as she made to interject, and began to read aloud.

"My Dear, Lady Lochan. I was relieved when you wrote me, I was afraid you would seek my assistance at a later date, which would have made it difficult for us to begin your treatment." Elide silently cursed herself for forgetting about Yrenes' pregnancy, she must be closing in on her due date now. "I would like to begin as soon as possible but of course it is your choice. Know that it will not be painless and I will do everything in my power to assist in both your pain and recovery. The more open you are the quicker the process will be. I wish you a healing mind and an open heart as we begin this journey together. You deserve everything, Elide, your suffering should not continue, even if you are used to it. Even thinking that breaks my heart. You should not be used to pain and discomfort, only love and joy. So enjoy your husband, Elide, and your beautiful country, I know I am. I await your response with a hopeful heart. Yours always, Yrene."

Elide didn't know she was crying until Lorcan's hand caressed her face, his fingers coming away damp.

"I want to do it. It's just the idea of being in constant pain... reliving it," She murmured against Lorcan's chest.

His body rumbled against hers as he spoke, "If it's something you want you should do it. Think not of the pain but of the easiness afterwards. The simplicities of life can bring as much joy as bigger things. Not having to worry about far distances, who you're with and if you need help or when the last time you used your salve was. And who knows, maybe reliving it will help you heal your heart as much as your foot."

She lay there, his hands soothing her as she pressed her lips against his chest.

She needed it. The easiness. Not worrying about where she was going, if there was a place for her to sit or if it was rough terrain or not. She needed the pain to go; the final remnants of a torturous life.

And that was what she would get.

She awoke later in the day to a knock on her door and her bed empty.

She climbed lazily out of bed and limped towards the door, stalling a moment to fix her ruffled hair, then swung the door open.

One of the maids that were gawking over her husband the other day was standing on the other side. Her hands were ringing together and a faint flush spread over her cheeks. Oh, she knew Elide heard everything.

"My Lady, There is someone here to see you."

Elide racked her brain, trying to figure out who it was and if she had any meetings she might have forgotten. None came to mind.

"Who is it?" her voice still croaky from earlier. But her heart sputtered when the maid quietly said-

"The Queen of the Witches, My Lady."

Manon.
