I dropped my rifle, and slung it across my back and pulled out a mirror to look into the room. The reflection on that mirror made me queasy. Blood sprayed all over the walls, Entrails hanging from the ceiling, chunks of rotting flesh littering the ground. My stomach turned and I held up a closed fist, and signaled to Antonio.

"Blast," I whispered. "The rookies aren't ready for this, just you and me." I ordered the other two to guard our six as Antonio and I entered the room. He looked around grimacing.

"Shit wood.....just shit..." he said. But I was focused on the glint in a pile of meat. I grabbed it and looked. It was a pendant. A silver ring with the name Victoria carved ornatly into each side. My stomach dropped and my heart rose into my throat bringing tears with it. I dropped to my knees clutching the bloody necklace.

"Blast....I gave this to the... the girl I was telling you about... when....when we were in high school..." I stood vision going red, and woke with my blood drenched knife lodged deep in an alien's back. It was still fully armored. I looked down, to find my rifle, and my pistol missing. I closed my eyes and counted my breaths, ten seconds in, ten seconds out. I opened my eyes and I was transported back to the room.

I watched myself stand, and walk calmly past the rookies in the hallway, and out the front door into the middle of the street. Then; "HEY!!" the metal clad alien turned its head, "YEAH YOU!! UGLY!! COME GET SOME!!! I'LL EVEN MAKE IT EASIER FOR YOU!!!" I walked to a car and set my rifle on the roof, then pulled out my pistol and laid it next to the M416. "COME AND GET SOME YOU SICK FUCK!!" I screamed yanking my knife out of the sheath on my chest, "COME FACE YOUR DEATH!!!" The alien roared, it came out metallic, and echoing, then it began to sprint running fast, and drawing its own knife, which was about the size of my arm.

I smiled viciously, and ran toward it. As it stabbed for my abdomen I jumped and kicked off the outstretched knife, launching myself toward the alien's head. I grabbed onto one of the facets on its helmet and shoved my knife through the neck piece of the suit, knowing it would do nothing. I smiled as it raised its arm like I knew it would and it stabbed at me, but I slid down taking my knife with it and it stabbed itself in the chest.

There was a screech but I was moving, focused, it fell to its knees and I ran up onto it's back and stabbed hard, right between the shoulder blades, my knife went through the armor, and into the back of the head of the alien inside.

I was back on top of the alien. My small remembrance had only taken a second.
