Im Chayoung had only been to the capital city a few times, yet, the metropolis never failed to amaze her every time.
Seoul in the afternoon was a busy sight, but, it was spectacular to see the towering buildings that overlooked the hectic roads.
People were on the sidewalks, either on their phone, or talking to the people besides them, stopping a couple of times to window shop on the way.
"How far is your apartment from here?" Chayoung asked as they turned a corner, away from the madness of the roads.
"We're literally here," Minhyuck beamed as he pulled into an allocated parking place, in front of a tall property.
The two exited the car and pulled their bags out of the boot, chatting in the elevator before they finally arrived at Minhyuck's door.
"Welcome to mi casa!" He introduced, pushing the door open.
The apartment accomodated three bedrooms, a kitchen, two bathrooms a living room and a dining area. It was spacious, although, Chayoung reckoned that it looked rather empty at the lack of living. A few photographs lined the walls and the curtains had been drawn back to reveal a wonderful view of the bustling city.
"So," The Kwon boy took a seat on the couch. "What do you think?"
"Incredible," Chayoung breathed as she watched the people down below who looked so small. "But, if you have this place, then why would you stay in Ilsan?"
"I love the capital, don't get me wrong," Minhyuck said. "But, there's no place like home, and Seoul is too busy for my liking,"
"True, true,"
"You can take the second bedroom, on the left," The dancer pointed towards a door. "Get settled in and feel free to use the bathroom," He pointed to another doorway.
Chayoung dragged her bag to the chamber and as she shut the door behind her, she marvelled at its luxurious quality.
A vanity dresser was in front of the bed, frilled pillowcases covering the pillows. A painting overlooked the bed and there was a small drawer besides the bed. A wardrobe was filled with clothing hangers, ready to welcome the clothes that Chayoung had packed for the journey.
Overall, it was great.
...
"Okay, here's another one, Park Seojoon or Park Hyungsik?"
Minhyuck and Chayoung were seated in front of the television, barely paying attention the clock that read just past midnight. An episode of a K-drama played in the background and a few pizza boxes sat in front of them as well as a few sides.
"Don't make me choose," Chayoung groaned. "I love Hyungsik but Seojoon can step on me, but, to be honest, both of them can,"
"Your turn,"
"JYP or SM?"
The Kwon boy hummed in thought as he pondered the question.
"I don't like either," He spoke, slowly. "But, I'll go for JYP. Anything's better than SM,"
"I agree,"
Chayoung took another slice of pizza, her eyes upon the drama that was playing as it reached a romantic scene.
"You know," She began. "I wouldn't mind a K-drama scene in my own lovelife,"
"You mean, your non-existent one,"
"You don't have to break my heart,"
"Then again, that's why we're here," Minhyuck smirked as he pushed his dark locks out of his hair. "To get your romance on the move,"
Chayoung rolled her eyes but she couldn't help but smile. "Enough about me, you don't have a lovelife either,"
Minhyuck's grin faltered by a fraction as he stared helplessly onto the screen.
"Is it bad," He stumbled over his words. "Is it bad that I still miss her?"
A dark expression made its way onto the Im girl's face. "You're still thinking about her?"
The Kwon boy's expression was vulnerable, an emotion that he would show to no-one other than the girl beside him. "Sometimes,"
"Lee Kyunghee wasn't good for you and you knew it," Chayoung said after a few seconds. "She hurt you, Hyuck and I can't stand people who hurt my best friend,"
Lee Kyunghee, the transfer student in their school who was one of the prettiest girls in their year, and had dated Minhyuck until his third year in dance school.
Until they had found out that he had only been a bet.
When the boy had discovered, he had been devestated. He'd refused to come out of his room, refused to eat anything until his mother had been sobbing at his door, begging him to eat something.
Chayoung had been furious at the Lee girl who had crushed her best friend's heart, but before she could release her rage at her, Kyunghee had moved away faster than once could say 'transfer'.
Minhyuck had slowly riddened himself of those past feelings, but both him and Chayoung knew that there were still lingering emotions for the girl.
After a few years had passed, Minhyuck had been approached by numerous girls and boys who had wanted to date him, but the Kwon boy had always politely turned them down, not wanting to risk the same thing that had happened a few years back.
"Actually," He smiled. "There's - there's this other girl that I like,"
Chayoung clapped her hands in delight. "Really? Who? Do I know them?"
Minhyuck nodded. "She works at the nursery. Yoo Sooyoung,"
"Sooyoung?" Chayoung's eyes widened in excitement. "You like Sooyoung? That's great, Hyuck!"
"She sometimes comes over to the academy, and we talk," Minhyuck rubbed the back of his neck, shyly. "I really like her, Chayoung,"
"And I'm sure she likes you, too," Chayoung pulled her best friend for a hug. "You deserve it,"
