Y/N POV

Sitting and waiting for the man to come back was excruciating. I was feeling so anxious that I started to get nauseous. I worried for the man, I worried for Elena, and most of all I worried about whether or not my father was going to live. I was scared that the man might be a bad person and just leave us here to freeze to death or worse. None of us knew what that man was, and we just blindly put or faith and our lives into his hands.

I just hoped that he would come back safe so that all of us could be safe in Luiza's house until we could figure out what is going on in the village. While we were sitting on the floor I realized that we should have something else to protect ourselves other than the machete that my father was still gripping on to with whatever strength he had left. I stood from my spot on the ground which caused them to both look up at my with curiosity. I reassured them that I wasn't going to leave them with a small smile. I left my bag on the ground next to where I was sitting and walked towards my small room.

I looked inside my my large dresser and saw that the stash of ammo I had was still tucked away in the corner. I quickly grabbed the few boxes I had and put them in the pockets of my winter coat that was hanging in the closet. I took the jacket out and put it on my figure, I slipped my arms through the faux fur sleeves. I decided that we probably not coming back home so I grabbed small things that were important to me like my necklace that my mother had made for me before she passed. I put it around my neck and looked in the small cracked mirror that hung on my wall to make sure it looked ok. As I looked in the mirror I noticed that my lips were slightly bleeding from me biting them anxiously.

I looked away from the mirror and walked towards my dresser. I looked in the drawers and found one of fathers old hunting knives that he had given me on one of my birthdays a few years ago. I stuck it in my pocket and closed the drawer. I looked back at my room once more to make sure I wasn't leaving anything. I didn't see anything of interest so I walked back into the dining room to check on the two of them. I saw them both sitting in the same spots that I left them in. I saw them both shivering on the ground. I frowned and turned back to my room to grab my blankets off of my bed.

I walked back in with the bundles of blankets in my arms and went over to the pair. Elena looked grateful that I brought them, but father was closing his eyes out of pain. I was scared of him falling asleep and not waking up again so I motioned for Elena to wake him up and keep him awake.

"Where are you going?" Elena asked me once she saw me walking towards the door.

I looked back at her comforting father, "I'm walking down to the old mans house down the street to see if he still has his gun. We might need it later."

I had purposely left them the gun that we kept in the house to make sure that they had some other form of protection while I was away. I didn't want to be away for too long because I was only gone for a few hours when father was attacked. I waved to Elena telling her I was leaving now. I walked out into the cold winter air. I wrapped my jacket around me tighter and started walking at a fast pace. I needed to get back quickly incase the man came back while I was gone. I looked around as I was walking in hopes of seeing him.

I made to the house that the old man had stayed at. He had lived here with his two daughters around my age. I was fairly close to them seeing as they were some of the few children my age in the village. When I found out that they were killed in one of the waves of Lycans I was very upset. I may have not been the closest to the family but nobody deserves to die that way.

The once beautiful house was now in a pile of rubble. Half of the house had collapsed in the attack and the entire roof had caved in. I carefully walked in the house to look for their cabinet that I knew they kept their gun in. I walked through the half house and tears started to form in my eyes making it hard for me to look properly. I had to stop in the middle of the house. I crouched down and placed my elbows on my knees, placing the heel of my hands into my eyes to hopefully stop the tears from coming.
