When I woke up, I quickly checked to make sure I was alone. Even though the room was small, I had no idea what the creature was capable of. 'I wish I hadn't been so curious.' I thought to myself, my mother always said curiosity killed the cat. I wish I had listened.
Before I could think any more negative thoughts, the door swung open. I was preparing myself for the absolute worst, but when I forced myself to look up, I was met with the dirty, bruised face of a girl. She looked to be about 18 or 19, around my age.
"Why are you in my safe space?" she said, quite rudely.
"I got trapped in this place and needed a place to rest." I stated.
"Whatever get out. The creature doesn't know this room exists yet and I'm not about to die because some newbie thought she could take my place."
"Wait...what is that thing? Have you seen it?"
"Hell no! If you see that thing in detail, you might as well be dead already. Now get out!"
I stand up, turn on my flashlight, and look at the girl curiously. She was a little taller than me by a few inches, roughly about 5’7.
She had long, dark red hair tied in a loose plait the fell over her shoulder. She was wearing a white button up shirt, which was opened just enough to show cleavage. Her shirt had blood splattered on it and was tucked into a pair of black leggings with some black combat boots. The strange thing is, she had two gold rings on her right hand, and gold bracelet, and a necklace made from rope with a silver anchor on that came down to her collar bones.
“How long have you been in here?”
“That’s none of your business, but by the looks of you, you haven’t been here long”
She spoke in what sounded like a thick Irish accent
“I got here yesterday”
“Oh, then you definitely need to go”
The girl grabbed me and stated push me to the door
“Wait, why?”
“Because you’re fresh meat. The creatures will be looking for you and because you’re new, they’ll be able to distinguish your scent and I am NOT getting killed because of someone like you”
“Listen here. Wait creatures? As in multiple? I thought there was just one”
“Well guess what princess, there’s a lot more than just the one”
As she calls me princess, she gestures to the way I look.
I had long blonde hair that flowed down to my waist in waves and deep brown eyes that always reminded me of chocolate, and very light skin that made me look like I hadn’t seen the sun in ages. I was wearing a black V-neck top that revealed a silver necklace accompanied by a light grey, almost cream-colored cardigan that almost reached my knees. I also had on simple blue jeans paired with a small leather belt, and my shirt neatly tucked in.
She moves closer to me the smell of blood and sweat fill my nostrils, I keep myself from reacting. She looks me up and down slowly and puts a finger in my face.
“You better not get me killed” she lowers her finger
“So, does this mean I don’t have to leave?”
“Yeah, sure” she turns around and starts walking towards the door “Well? You comin?”
I walk behind her “Where are we going?” I asked whispering
“Another hallway.”
“Why?”
“Because I’m not sure if the creature knows about that room now or not,” she says looking back at me
