*bam, bam, bam*
My head is pounding and I can barely open my eyes.
*bam, bam ,bam*
There it goes again, ugh.
"HURRY UP, TIME TO GET IN THE CAR!" yells my dad.
Oh god, the pounding wasn't my head, but from his knocks. Great. Another day at school where I look like one of the guys.

"Hey Neels, rough night?"
Without looking up, I know it's my best friend Kevin. I grab his hand that's on my shoulder, and gently squeeze it, silently thanking him. Rough life, I think to myself, but change the subject because he'd start to worry again.
I get up and he falls into step beside me. We start walking down the hallway, towards our classes because we don't want to be tardy again. Kevin and I can talk about anything and everything, missing the warning bells aha. Clutching his backpack close to his chest, I notice that something's off. I sink into my chair and pull out my notebook. It's not long before I get lost in my thoughts again...
"Aneel, is there something you want to share?"
I blink a few times and face the front. Everyone was turned, looking at me. I smile sheepishly and shrug. Mrs.Enlighten sighs and warns me to pay attention. Get out of your head Aneels, You love learning, look at the front of the classroom and listen.
Class ends and as I gather my supplies into my arms, I hear her calling out my name just before I could reach the door.
"Are you okay Aneel? Like honestly okay?" She seems concerned, but I don't believe her. I respond with the only thing that I can say...
"Probably, maybe. Idk. I have to get to my next class before the bell-
*brrrrng, brrrrng*
Another tardy, what's new?
