Questioning Jason

Jason sat across from me. Just like Beth he had came to the FBI Head Quarters. He had a distant look in his eyes. His lower lip trembled with the effort to hold back the tears that threatened to spill over.

"I didn't hurt her, Detective. I wasn't even home that night. I went out with friends."

"Both Laken and Beth said that you abused Marie, is that true?"

"Once. I hit her once."

"Did Marie ever cheat on you?"

"N-no. She didn't cheat on me."

"Beth said that Jaclyn told her that Marie cheated on you. Beth believes that you killed Marie."

"I didn't kill her, okay! I couldn't, wouldn't kill her. I loved her with all my heart. She was all I had. My parents don't give a rat's ass about me and...."

Jason broke down in tears. Sobs wrecked his body and he looked up at me for support, his blue eyes begging for answers. Jason was taking Marie's death harder than anyone.

"Jason, do you think that any of the others could have killed her?" I asked.

"Beth and Laken adored Marie. Jaclyn used her. She talked about Marie behind her back and said so many awful things. She alway hated Marie."

"Beth said that Jaclyn envied Marie. Said that Marie had the one thing that Jaclyn didn't. Do you know what that one thing could be?"

Jason stared off into the distance before answering me.

"I- I don't know."

"Do you think that Jaclyn could have killed Marie?"

"When I came back home, Jaclyn wasn't there. I was the one who found Marie. I called her grandparents and the police..... I do believe Jaclyn had something to do with Marie's murder."
